I love all the Saber figures and there are many. Even when she is so serious like with the Saber/Lily figure, she is still cute.

I've been wanting to do this shoot with my Mine Blue figure for some time, but I knew it would take time. Winter is coming on so I decided yesterday to go for it. Total time for set up, shoot and clean-up took about an hour. Not bad. Of course I had help from my daughter. She helped with the labor and cat wrangling on the set. I like dioramas, I hope you do too.

That is one sharp figure. I'm usually mixed on dioramas. I see a lot of figure photos where someone clearly just slapped their figure down on a grass lawn and shot some photos from standing height. I have a lot of respect for photos where some though has clearly been put into making an actual scene as yours does. I like how it looks like she's out for a quick trek down a dirt road.

Some people go really crazy and even build miniature scenes from scratch. More often than not they're quite impressive but I can't imagine how much that must cost to do regularly. I'll stick with my comparatively cheap homemade backdrops for now.

This was supposed to be just a quick test shot with my new photo lights but it came out so well that I figured I'd call it a keeper. I can post more links when I do a real shoot.

Saber Maid (Light Test)

What's funny is that the whole maid thing usually doesn't float my boat, I can cook and clean (or a rough approximation thereof) for myself, but this figure just blew me away.

All right figure fans, I need help from some of you. I think I'm still a little too revved up about getting this figure so she seems to look good against any color I put behind her! Can a few more objective minds chime in with an opinion as to which looks best?

The one that stood out to me the most would be the bottm right. I found that one more soothing (or should i say "easy on the eyes"?) to look at than at the brighter backgrounds of the others. Regardless of the background Sabre in a maid outfit... blush

BTW is this going to be a photoshoot that later winds up being pic for your desktop?

I agree. I thought bottom right looked best as well. Slightly behind that is the one immediately to the left (the darker blue) which didn't look too bad either.

Same here! That one stood out the most followed by the one at the top left.

It's funny you say that. I usually have an anime paper up but just the other day I stumbled across an Aegis photo from a shoot a year and a half or so ago that I inexplicably ignored. I processed it and liked it so much that I made it my desktop. If this shoot turns out well I may very well make one of the new photos my wallpaper.

Good call! I posted the pic on one other thread an each color got a vote but there was an overall preference for the purple and denim colors. I'm actually surprised about the purple, not because it isn't an excellent match, but because it was the last photo I took with my old lights. The rest of the shots were with the new lights but I white balanced them all to the new lights. As a result the purple looks kinda washed out as does Saber herself.

Because purple still managed to get votes even in its diminished state, I figured I would take a shot or two with the new lights to see how it looked when done correctly. This somehow turned into a full photo shoot so I guess purple wins! blush It looks to be a fantastic match and looks far, far better than the sample photo I posted.

Thank you all again for the well-considered responses. It really helped me get out of my deadlocked state. I'll post some photos as soon as I'm done processing them.
