Because I have my policy with the same people as my car and truck I only pay $15 a month. I figured that 30 minutes worth of paycheck is worth covering my DVDs.

$15, does it vary depending on the size. \<--Stupid Question/ How big is your collection?

I have to send in an updated list every 6 months when I pay my policy. They said that anything that I add as long as it is recorded will be covered between the official updates. It jumped from $10 to $15 a wile back but I couldn't tell you at what point that was. But it was because of the size.

If you want to see my collection you can see part of it in the DVD collection thread. That is about 80% of it. In a couple weeks I am going down to my sisters and I plan to rescue as much as I can from her.

And WHAT IS THAT AVATAR?!?!?! I am just sitting here and completely distracted by it.

Combined cost of software and scanner puts you right around $75 for a setup that will shrink a weekend long project into an hour or so.

I wound up getting a DVDProfiler and a barcode scanner and did 1.4K Titles in about 6 hours with only 10-20 needing research on SRP. I wund up paying retail for the scanner at staples since it was late at night but it was well worth it after doing about 1/2 of a shelf manually.

Thanks for posting that info. I have always been looking for a good quality program to track my collection but I didn't know what they were called. But when I did a Google on DVDProfiler the first hit is an AWESOME program. Now, I just need to get a barcode reader to fill out the info.

Considering the size of my room mates CD collection now I wonder if there is something similar to it he could use.

Did you see my post in the avatar thread? Its the main character from Xenogears. Its an old PS1 game made by the former SquareSoft.

that was my setup with state farm because i had my car and renters insurance with them. now i have it split. car insurance with SF and rental insurance with LM.

i'm gonna have to look into that hardware and software since it sounds like it works as well as it says. anything to make my inventory easier and accurate smile

How much are you guys paying for insurance on your collections, and also the figures and collectibles.

when i was with SF i had $150,000 insured coverage with a $500 deductible. i only paid around $30 a month for it. a deal, imo.
with liberty mutual, i have $100,000 all-encompasing and am in the process of setting up a separate policy of $50,000 for my collectibles & breakables

I must say I'm glad I'm not the only person who has their collection as a unique line-item on their policy.
