I've had sore hands before, but only if I hadn't played in a while. I can't say that I've ever shed blood over a video game. lol It is fun, though, when games come out that make you want to cancel your plans for a week or two, and you lock yourself in the bunker, so-to-speak.

lol good old bunker.
I lock myself away every time a new RPG comes out i play it nonstop until i beat it and if it is good enough i beat it again.
Normally three times is all i will beat one game unless it has multi-endings or is just that good that i want to beat it again.

I don't know, maybe you should change your avatar to Konata Izumi? Would that be a better fit? laugh

My thumbs haven't bled since I was in grade school. the skin on my thumbs is so tough I can play games for hours on end without feeling a thing.

I started with Final Fantasy - NES/Gameboy era. I played the original FF on NES and Legends on Gameboy and have been a fan ever since.

I am currently playing FFI again, and plan on playing 2-X2 once I finish, skipping III cause I don't have a DS. It's been ages since I have played many of them.

Other RPGs I have played an enjoyed over the years, off the top of my head:

The secret of Mana
Illusion of Gaia
Chrono Trigger/cross
Dragon Warrior
Lunar: The silver Star Story
Breath of Fire I-III
Phantasy Star I
FFXII

God, I'm drawing a blank, there has to be more. O_o

You're missing out on some pretty good RPGs. frown

My first RPG was Final Fantasy VII. I was watching my friend play and I thought it was stupid just by watching the game play (though it is boring watching someone else play). He told me to try it anyways so I did.
Turned out I loved it completly and played it several times in a row (spent my whole 7th grade summer the first time doing every side story, quest, etc.). I think Final Fantasy VII lead me to watching anime as well.
Now if my stuff would just get here (in shipment from Okinawa) I could play the Final Fantasy XIII demo I bought when I was in Tokyo and then watch FF: Advent Children on Blue Ray - my first Blue Ray purchase!
I owe a lot to Final Fantasy VII. Arigatou Gozaimasu!

Do most of you prefer pure RPGs that use text menus for the bulk of the actions/combat, or do you prefer hybrid adventure/RPGs, in which you typically control the action/fighting yourself? Personally, I prefer doing my own fighting, and I got into RPGs from the action/adventure side. Games such as Phantasy Star and Final Fantasy have been exceptions for me, whereas games like Adventure, Zelda, Tomb Raider, and Demon's Souls are my bread-and-butter.
