Post here about the current game your playing or even talk about games from your RPG past.Maybe even the first RPG you played that got you hooked.

Currently i am playing Star Ocean The Last Hope and it is great so far the graphics are awesome the character style and level design remind me alot of Xenosaga.
I would recommend this game to any RPG fan.

In the beginning i think the first RPG i played was probably Phantasy Star 1 at least i think it was part 1 its been so long i can't remember. But from there on out i have played every RPG i could get my hands on most good and a few horrible games here and there.

I love RPG's and am a huge Final Fantasy fan. I am currently playing Eternal Sonata on the 360 and starting Star Ocean on the PSP. I've never played a Star Ocean game before. The first RPG I played was Final Fantasy IX and I was hooked.

RPGs?

Phantasy Star I, II, & III on SMS and Genesis (I never played PS IV.)

Final Fantasy VII, X, & X-2 on PS1 and PS2

I might get FF XIII for the PS3 in 2010, depending on the reviews and word of mouth. I don't enjoy RPGs on a regular basis, but when really good ones comes out, I enjoy them on occasion. I tend to prefer hands-on action/adventure games, in the style Zelda and Tomb Raider. That being said, FF VII was an incredible gaming experience.

I can't remember the first RPG that I played. It was on the Genesis through the Sega Channel. However, I wasn't really into RPGs back then.

The RPG that got me into RPGs was The Legend of Dragoon on the PS1. I really liked the combo system, they used in the battles.

When I was younger and in the NES era I didn't really have patience for RPG's but I really enjoyed action games with RPG elements. I did have friends that played stuff like FF, Dragon Warrior, etc. but those used to bore me.

The first RPG I really enjoyed/got hooked on was the first Shining Force for Genesis (I think I was about 12). The rental copy we played had a bad battery so after playing 6 hours straight and turning the game off yielded a nasty reset... but we learned from that and beat it without turning the system off.

I suppose I collect RPG's more than I enjoy playing RPG's as there's not all that many RPG's I have that much fun with (although it's the majority of what I play). I can say that when I do get hooked really hard I can take down a 40-hour RPG in about 3-4 days. I rarely do all the side/bonus quests but will on occasion (usually my 2nd time playing the game). I generally prefer turn-based RPG's to strategy RPG's as I find positional combat to be tedious and slow. Grandia II probably had my favorite combat system.

RPG's that I would say I enjoyed a lot: FF7, FF10, Rogue Galaxy, dot.Hack G.U., and Xenosaga.

The main thing that seems to separate me from most RPG players is that I tend to blow through games really fast my first time through, usually leading to ridiculously hard boss fights at the end because my characters are too low level. e.g. FF7 28 hours, FF10 32 hours, Xenosaga II 16 hours, etc. My second time through a game is when I go and get everything. I have quite a few games in my "to play" pile.

Heh, I'm just the opposite. I explore everything, talk to every character, and wander around looking for fights to build up my party's experience to levels way higher than they should be at the time. I probably spent half of my total FF VII time at the Gold Saucer amusement park playing games within the game.

Fallout3. Good God, I love this game. The game often enough will play out like a first person shooter, but the game offers so much more. I've put 80+ hours into this game. Know how much of the world map I've explored? Barely 1/3rd. Just like Stefanie, I have the most fun scouring every corner of every area I come across. The primary mission is available to those that want it, but the primary mission is not even close to a 50th of what all the game offers. I can not recommend highly enough that people play this game. An FPS RPG might sound really strange, but it works. ..Better than any other RPG I've played prior. While the game has incredible depth, my only hope is that Bethesda either further delves into Fallout, or that they again take this exact same formula to a new world. I'd say that the element that makes Fallout3 the perfect ideal RPG is freedom. While your typical RPG may have an incredible main story line, typically, while a few distractions may exist, everything funnels your progress in a very obvious manner toward you progressing forward. In Fallout3, right from the start, you are free to explore in any direction, in any town, & wherever you go, there will absolutely be adventure. The freedom to ignore the main quest & role play your character anyway you see fit.
Eventually, I am looking forward to playing Oblivion. I already have the game on my shelf, but I hardly can even consider playing it before I find myself full after Fallout3 (If that's even possible).

While the Zelda series is typically thought of as purely an adventure game, I'd say there's also strong RPG elements: great story, lots of characters with stories to tell & quests to offer, etc. I do love most Zelda titles.

Final Fantasy VII, as with most of you, was/is a huge favorite of mine. I loved Secret Of Evermore.. I think lately I may not have quite the amount of patience for retro RPG style games as I used to. It seems to have been quite a while since I last played a turn based RPG game. .. I suppose I'll know whether or not I still like them when FFXIII comes out, as I'll be diving head first into it without doubt.

As soon as Tales Of Vesperia gets a price dip I'll be picking it up. I loved Symphonia.

Hehe, yah, that's how most RPG'ers tend to play RPG's. If/when I play them a second time I tend to go and do more. e.g. my second time through FF10 I had like 132 hours played, got every ultimate weapon and everyone was at 9999hp and 999mp (I didn't go as far as doing the monster arena until everyone had gear that let them go beyond those numbers nor clear out the sphere grid and replace all +1's with +4's). Seems like I marathon RPG's like I do anime... can't wait to see what happens next so I just keep going.

There's quite a few if you include ports. One of the nice bonuses for PSP is the remote play function if you have a PS3.
