I've got a Wii, but I rarely play it. It can be a lot of fun with a group of people, but, aside from what Stefanie mentioned (Zelda, Mario, Metroid) I don't have any reason to spend time playing it by myself (which is how I play most games.) Considering I don't own any of the Wii Zelda, Mario, or Metroid titles yet, I usually just let it sit collecting dust.

Classic gaming makes me think of the days of my Intelevision and Atari 2600 with games like Frogger, Donkey Kong, Burger Time, Pole Position, Asteroids, and good God even E.T. was fun to me for some reason.
Then came the Nintendo and the Master system with all their colors and pixels. Bionic Commando, Dino Riki, Kid Niki, Dragon Warriors, Final Fantasy, Crystalis, Megamans, Conquest of the Krion Empire, Phantasy Star, Dynowarz, Wonder Boy, Shinobi, Super Mario 3, and Trojan were some of my favorites during that time.
Reading through the past posts really brought back lots of memories. I think I actually owned at one time every freaking system since the NES (yes even the 3D0, Jaguar, and Virtual Boy). I have all the new systems and a MAME arade cabinet that I'm trying to get rid of...making room for my little girl when she gets here in June. Out of the three new systems I play the PS3 the least, but I do use it as a glorified Bluray and dvd player. My Wii and 360 get used the most. Online gaming I use the 360 and if I have a drinking party I pull out the wii. Nothing like taking shots when playing Wario Ware. By the way Stefanie, you weren't the only one that did the Super Bomberman Battle Mode with alchohol...damn those were the good ole days.
I guess my classic videogames to me didn't come until I was in highschool and got a Sega Saturn. To me that was the golden age of gaming. Of course at the time I was mainly into 2D fighters and side scrollers. I don't know how many hours I spent playing; King of Fighters 94-97, Astal, Guardian Heroes, Rabbit, Samurai Showdown 3 & 4, Street Fighter Alphas, Magic Knight Rayearth, Shining Force 3 (still pissed we only got the first chapter), Street Fighter Collection, Super Puzzle Fighter, Fighting Vipers, Darkstalkers, Groove On Fight, Saturn Bomberman, Panzer Dragoon Saga, K O Attack Squadron, Radiant Silvergun, and Symphony of the Night.

I think I actually owned at one time every freaking system since the NES (yes even the 3D0, Jaguar, and Virtual Boy). That's pretty hardcore! I haven't thought of those systems in years.I play the PS3 the least, but I do use it as a glorified Bluray and dvd player. That's how I used my PS3 for the first few months I owned it, but I gradually got more use out of it as I got some of my favorite series, such as Ridge Racer 7 and GTA IV. Things have really picked up lately, now that Tomb Raider: Underwolrd, Silent Hill: Homecoming, and Resident Evil 5 (as of March 13) are finally available, and now that the Playstation Home Beta is running.

I remmember my first game with my NES was Elevator Action. Then Pro Wrestling, and of course Mario. Tho my sister was hooked on Mike Tyson and was the first one to beat it. And did she let me know it!! I remember playing Elevator Action (along with Pole Position) at the local Roller Rink. Good times were had. Slightly OT but I think classic gaming is one reason I am so into pixel art. I think there's just something about the art of the block that makes it all awesome. Of course, I did drawings with MSPaint back in high school (which are gone with the wind, sadly) and so I can't prove I was ahead of the retro curve. *sigh* Always the way.
