I loved playing those games, especially Sonic and Vectorman. In fact, I still have my Sega Genesis hooked up to my TV. I don't know why, I don't even play it.

Bomberman (battle mode) is a fun game when you have four players... and plenty of alcohol.

I love Classic videogames! Just this morning I tested out an SNES redesign I got for free with Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart.

I have most classic systems except for some of the really old ones like the Odyssey and Vectrex and the one from RCA. I do hope to get a TG16 one of these days.

Favorite Games:

Atari 2600: Space Invaders, Cosmic Ark, Atlantis, ANY of the Activision Games except for the drag racing one.

Intellivision: Space Armada (most InTV games sucked)

ColecoVision: Donkey Kong, Popeye

NES: Outside of all Mario and Zelda games - Punch Out, Kirby, Ducktales, MC Kids and way too many more

SNES: Mario World, Mario Kart, Zelda 3, Super Metroid etc.

Genesis: Sonic 1-3, Vectorman

TG16: Neutopia 1&2 and every shmup

N64: Mario 64, Ocarina of Time

Saturn: Nights into Dreams, any vs fighter

GCN: Wind Waker, Smash Bros Melee, Ikaruga

Wii: Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart Wii

So yeah, those are my favorite games. If I had to pick overall favorites I would pick: Mario 3, Space Invaders and Wind Waker. My favorite game to play in the arcade is probably Galaga but it's never as fun at home.

No one rocked Strider or Shining Force for Genesis? Those were probably my 2 favorite games on the console, although I admit I spent more time with Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 2/3, and NHL 94/95 than anything else on that system.

In terms of 4-player alcohol-driven party games, Chu-Chu Rocket on Dreamcast is probably my all time favorite. The best game ever for bringing out one's inner spaz.

OMG, you made me realize that I neglected my Dreamcast!! Oh God how I loved that system from Sonic Adventure 2 (the last great Sonic game) and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Soul Caliber and well, a ton of Japanese games I had.

Yeah, the DC rocked my world.

Punch-Out!! (my version is Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!) is a great NES game. It's not Zelda, but back in those days, it was a lot of fun. I was so happy the first time I beat Mike.

So, did you play Adventure on the Atari 2600? Warlords is another great game for that system.

In my opinion, Ikaruga was not only the best shooter on the GCN, but the best shooter of the entire Sixth Generation. Before that, it was Space Megaforce ("Presented by Toho." - players of the game will get that lol) on the SNES, and Einhänder on the PS1. These days, it's Super Stardust HD on the PS3. I think I injured my hands playing that game this weekend.

Gorf will always be my favorite, but I did love Galaga and Galaxian, as well as Stratovox ("Help me! Help me! Lucky! Lucky! Lucky!").

I did play Strider and Sonic on the Genesis. They were good games, but for me, the Genesis was dominated by sports and fighting games, which the NES/SNES just didn't do well (except for the Street Fighter series). I still remember how much hype there was for Strider in Electronic Gaming Monthly.

I've never heard of ChuChu Rocket. If you place that ahead of Bomberman and Mario Kart as a party game, it must be something special.

I bought the Sonic Sega Collection game for 360 and i got to say if you don't have it pick it up it has 50 titles on it and the majority are great games.
It has Phantasy Star 1-4 on it that makes it worth the 30$ it sells for.
And i got the new Street Fighter 4 the other day it has the same feel as the old 2-D games it pretty good with few low points.
I wish they would release a Street Fighter collection of all the 2-D games i would buy that with a quickness.

One word, Contra.

I LOVED Contra. Loved it. It is the only game that I would be willing to break out the old NES for.
