Then came the Gensis: Sonic (almost every game) Streets of Rage 1-3 Sega Channel (that's where most of my games came from) Ristar Comic Zone Mega Bomberman Outrun 2019 Earthworm Jim Vectorman Sonic CD (Sega CD)
I loved playing those games, especially Sonic and Vectorman. In fact, I still have my Sega Genesis hooked up to my TV. I don't know why, I don't even play it.

I love Classic videogames! Just this morning I tested out an SNES redesign I got for free with Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart.
I have most classic systems except for some of the really old ones like the Odyssey and Vectrex and the one from RCA. I do hope to get a TG16 one of these days.
Favorite Games:
Atari 2600: Space Invaders, Cosmic Ark, Atlantis, ANY of the Activision Games except for the drag racing one.
Intellivision: Space Armada (most InTV games sucked)
ColecoVision: Donkey Kong, Popeye
NES: Outside of all Mario and Zelda games - Punch Out, Kirby, Ducktales, MC Kids and way too many more
SNES: Mario World, Mario Kart, Zelda 3, Super Metroid etc.
Genesis: Sonic 1-3, Vectorman
TG16: Neutopia 1&2 and every shmup
N64: Mario 64, Ocarina of Time
Saturn: Nights into Dreams, any vs fighter
GCN: Wind Waker, Smash Bros Melee, Ikaruga
Wii: Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart Wii
So yeah, those are my favorite games. If I had to pick overall favorites I would pick: Mario 3, Space Invaders and Wind Waker. My favorite game to play in the arcade is probably Galaga but it's never as fun at home.

No one rocked Strider or Shining Force for Genesis? Those were probably my 2 favorite games on the console, although I admit I spent more time with Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 2/3, and NHL 94/95 than anything else on that system.
In terms of 4-player alcohol-driven party games, Chu-Chu Rocket on Dreamcast is probably my all time favorite. The best game ever for bringing out one's inner spaz.

Favorite Metroid: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (With Super Metroid from the SNES in 2nd place). Favorite Zelda: Link To The Past (With either Ocarina Of Time or Twilight Princess in 2nd place). Favorite Mario: Super Mario World (With either Mario 64 or Super Mario Bros. 3 in 2nd place). Favorite Smash Bros: Smash Bros 64 (Melee in a distant 2nd). Favorite Resident Evil: Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition (I expect 5 to trump 4). Favorite Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat (...I suppose the 3rd on SNES will do fine as 2nd place). Favorite Final Fantasy: VII (It was the first that I ever really completed. ..It's been a while, but the one on SNES with the playable moogle character in 2nd place). Favorite MarioKart: MarioKart 64 (MarioKart DS in 2nd). Favorite RPGs: Fallout 3, FFVII, Tales Of Symphonia. Favorite FPSs: GoldenEye 64, Fallout 3, Half Life 2. Favorite puzzle games: Tetris DS, Portal, Sudoku. Favorite Nes games: Mario 3, Rescue Rangers, Ninja Gaiden. Favorite Snes games: Secret Of Evermore, Super Metroid, Super Mario World, Double Dragon / Battle Toads, Link To The Past. Favorite N64 games: Smash Bros 64, Mario 64, GoldenEye, MarioKart 64, Ocarina Of Time. Favorite Gamecube games: Jungle Beat, Pikmin 2, RE4, Tales Of Symphonia, Mario RPG: Thousand Year Door, Chibi-Robo. Favorite Wii games: Excite Truck, The Godfather, Metroid Prime 3, Twilight Princess. Favorite DS games: Castlevania (All DS versions), Ouendan, Hotel Dusk, Phoenix Wright, Trace Memories. Favorite PS2 games: Yakuza, Bully, Psychonauts, God Of War. Favorite PS3 games: Assassin's Creed, Metal Gear Solid 4, Orange Box, Uncharted. Favorite 360 games: Fallout 3, Gears Of War 2. NES: Outside of all Mario and Zelda games - Punch Out, Kirby, Ducktales, MC Kids and way too many more Punch-Out!! (my version is Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!) is a great NES game. It's not Zelda, but back in those days, it was a lot of fun. I was so happy the first time I beat Mike.
So, did you play Adventure on the Atari 2600? Warlords is another great game for that system. GCN: Wind Waker, Smash Bros Melee, Ikaruga In my opinion, Ikaruga was not only the best shooter on the GCN, but the best shooter of the entire Sixth Generation. Before that, it was Space Megaforce ("Presented by Toho." - players of the game will get that lol) on the SNES, and Einhänder on the PS1. These days, it's Super Stardust HD on the PS3. I think I injured my hands playing that game this weekend. My favorite game to play in the arcade is probably Galaga but it's never as fun at home. Gorf will always be my favorite, but I did love Galaga and Galaxian, as well as Stratovox ("Help me! Help me! Lucky! Lucky! Lucky!").

I did play Strider and Sonic on the Genesis. They were good games, but for me, the Genesis was dominated by sports and fighting games, which the NES/SNES just didn't do well (except for the Street Fighter series). I still remember how much hype there was for Strider in Electronic Gaming Monthly. In terms of 4-player alcohol-driven party games, ChuChu Rocket on Dreamcast is probably my all time favorite. The best game ever for bringing out one's inner spaz. I've never heard of ChuChu Rocket. If you place that ahead of Bomberman and Mario Kart as a party game, it must be something special.

One word, Contra.
I LOVED Contra. Loved it. It is the only game that I would be willing to break out the old NES for.
