Anecdotal evidence like this is lacking, to say the least. I know girls that would never touch Card Captor Sakura, and guys that love it (like me). Does that mean it's any less targeted at girls? Of course not.

I don't know why you're so stubbornly adamant about sticking to a position that is just blatantly incorrect. You have no actual evidence, so it has to be either a misunderstanding of the counterarguments so far or just an intense dislike of admitting you're wrong. Either way, it's obvious nothing remotely productive can come out of this conversation anymore.

As long as everyone else has read this exchange and come to the obvious conclusion that Nanoha is not purposefully targeted at girls (and thus is not shoujo), then that's good enough for me.

i do think that the original audience of the show was girls. But when a's came out they quickly found out that guys quite enjoyed it too, and thus strikers was more oriented toward the guys.

...Sigh.

No. Just a thousand times no. Read the whole conversation, the target demo was set from the start and never changed. By like 3-4 episodes into the first season, it shares very little in common with most magical girl anime. And while Nanoha's fanservice is often vastly overstated by those who like to paint all its fans as pedophiles, what there was, was there from the start.

They knew exactly who they were going for. It sure as hell did not take them all the way to A's to realize it.

i apologize, but i am not going to "admit i am wrong" to satisfy someone else when i do not feel that my convictions and conclusions are invalid or misappropriate. i believe in them, and so i will stand by them, just as you stand by yours.

i will agree that we are going to disagree, and thus it is what it is.

Thus head meets brick wall. Oh well.

The way I see it is, if you like the anime, your gonna watch it. And if it really appeals to you then you just might buy it. Who cares if its a show meant for the opposite sex. Well maybe your boyfriend/girlfriend or wife/husband, but if YOU like it, WHO CARES.

Certainly. Completely agree.

That wasn't the topic of discussion, however.

Any info would be great even if it is to say that you really don't know.

Thanks,

The first news I am aware of has come from Media Blasters.

Media Blasters has announced the first title (of which I am aware) which has been licensed from Geneon Entertainment since their abrupt exit from the anime licensing for the North American market. The first title to come to market will be Seirei no Moribito, which is set to air on Adult Swim with DVD release to follow. Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny, another of Geneon's former properties is also on the way. No details are provided about the details of the DVD release.

the news of Seirei no Moribito makes me extremely happy, but Ikkitousen is a 'could care less' title for me. a lot of the unfinished or never released Geneon licenses will be relicensed i think, but those that were already completed probably won't be relicensed.
