This is the thread to tell about the avatar you are currently using.

To start off, I've decided to use the cute Shimako Toudou from Maria-sama ga Miteru (Nothing against Nozomi's title, I'm just used to typing it that way), my favorite character from the series.

What is your avatar?

My avatar is my namesake, Sakura Shinguji, leading heroine of the majority of the long-running yet recently-diminishing series of Sakura Taisen (a.k.a. Sakura Wars) videogames, and associated anime, manga, novels, merchandise, etc.

I've always tended to choose character-based usernames for things like this, and have stuck to avatars of those characters in applicable situations. Boring, maybe, but it's also a challenge of sorts, finding new artwork and thinking of what to do with it in a 100x100 space (or less!). I guess I've had this one in use for quite some time, though.

My avatar depicts a chibi version of Chihiro Shindō from ef~ a tale of memories.

I chose it because the source picture caught my eye for its sheer cuteness. (Credit goes to Minori and ef~ the latter tale)

For the longest time, I never used any avatar when posting on any forums.

However.....that all changed once I watched .Hack//Sign.....as that show really surprised me (I originally didn't preorder it......and as such, was left to scramble to find a copy of the V1 + box LE well after they were sold out at TRSI) and definitely left an impression on me.........especially the character of Bear.......someone who seemed in many ways to be quite similar to me.

Other than Bear, I really never used any other avatar on such a consistent basis since I started using them...........with the only exception being when I was attempting to voice my support for E's Otherwise (used a number of different avatars based on one of the characters of that series).......before it was officially announced as being licensed by a R1 studio.

Once that was confirmed....I switched back to solely using Bear.....and unless something major causes me to reconsider that decision, I think it is safe to say that he will continue to follow me around where ever I go as he has more or less become synonymous with me........sorta like how I almost always can be found wearing a NY Yankees baseball cap. smile

A.J.

Mine is Clare from Claymore.

When it comes to anime, Gundam will always be my number one. However, in the manga world Claymore is my favorite.

Mine is Hei from Darker than black.

I hope Funimation will announce the release date of DVD 1 before the end of the year.

My avatar is a sketch of Disgaea's Flonne from the Character Collection book (English version here); I started using it again when I found a backup copy in my archives. I'd explain why, but it's easier to tell people to just play the game.

Edit Reason: Parentheses misplacement. Also, I apologize for breaking thread integrity with this post.
