Kanon 2002 < I would imagine most people that bought 2006 Kanon wants to see this.
Sister Princess Repure < Its a retelling of ADV's Sister princess Story. Not a sequel.
To Heart: Remember My Memories < Next sequel to Right Stuf anime To Heart.
To Heart 2 & three OVA's < Spinoff of the original To Heart

But only if you dub them, except Kanon 2002.

I would completely agree with licensing the rest of 'To Heart', I think one of the big reasons why I didn't care for the first season of 'To Heart' was simply because it felt so incomplete with too many loose ends. If I saw the next few seasons my opinion might change and I could appreciate it more.

As for 'Sister Princess: Repure', I'd get that in heartbeat but I don't really agree that it's a retelling of the story. The TV version was kind of a hack job to put the characters into a cute harem situation (which don't get me wrong, I loved that series and still rewatch it) but Repure is much more faithful to the manga... or so I've been told.

Well, FWIW, "Toradora!" is shaping up to be one of the funniest, most subtle anime I've seen yet. No simple solutions, and characters exchanging wordless looks - you don't find that sort of thing very commonly.

This anime is just about enough to give "tsundere" a good reputation again. I've grown quite attached to these characters. Palmtop Tiger, indeed.

I would rather Funimation license and Dub Rosario + Vampire. Unless it was licensed by Kadokawa Pictures USA first, like The Third:The Girl with the Blue Eye.

Edit Reason: Removed ADV due to loss of respect

One title that I would really love to see come up here is Banner of the Stars 3. It's only a two episode OVA, so a one disc release would take care of it.

Seeing how Gakuen Alice got picked up, I would REALLY love to see Ashita no Nadja (Nadja of Tomorrow) get picked up as well. Like Princess Tutu, it's one of those shows a lot of people either don't think about or notice, but once they do...I honestly can't think of anyone who's watched it and hated it. ^^;

Sadly it's like early 2000 though, so of course nobody else wants it. ._. "too old".

So I'm guessing that this is the official 2009 anime license request topic for this forum now, huh?

Anyway, I'll ad my list:
Ring ni Kakero 1
Akagi
Kaiji

And I'll add in a City Hunter license rescue.

The year 2005 brought many great anime such as Kamichu, Ichigo Marshmallow, Honey and Clover, Mushishi, and last but not least, ARIA & EMMA, which are all licensed. There are tons of other "mediocre" titles from 2005 which were licensed and released; which I won't list because it would be kind of long.

Amongst these titles is a true gem that people overlooked -whether due to lack of fansubs or lack of discussion- and went unnoticed. I believe that title is Petopeto-san. I have heard nothing but praises from fans who are familiar with this show and it even was a good contender for best of 2005, regardless of popularity. My only hope of Petopeto-san license is with you guys! Oh Dark Lord, I promise to buy at least 3 copies if you can grant thy wish. XD

I strongly agree with ToHeart: Remember My Memories and ToHeart2 + all the OAVs. The ToHeart series is my favorite anime, and actually, ToHeart2 is more popular than ToHeart because a lot of people see the characters online and I know that those people would be curious about the anime and backstory behind those characters.

I would be overjoyed if you guys licensed it! Out of all the other companies, you guys have always been my favorite! :3

Well, I've got a couple of suggestions for new titles, but they're not your typical anime/manga titles. I've been playing Atlus' Shin Megami Tensei series, and the games are excellent. Looking into to them, I discovered they are based off of a SciFi novel series called Megami Tensei by Aya Nishitani. I was also looking for a translation of the Crest of the Stars novels by Morioka Hiroyuki awhile back and never could find a translation for that series either. (Edit - just found out that TokyoPop released that in English, heading to the store now..) I don't really know why people never translate actual books besides classics like "The Tales of Genji" but it could possibly be a new market, at least one that I'm interested in.

It's because the sales decrease with each new installment. This came directly from a Tokyopop last Spring, before they did the downsizing. Oh and don't count on seeing the Banner of the Stars novels come up here.

There are only a handful of novel series that are still releasing up here.

I haven't seen any of it, but I can promise I would buy if it was licensed:

Aishiteruze Baby

I recently bought and read all of the manga and loved it. Such a wonderful story. If the anime gets even close to the manga, then I'm sure it will be great.

I also think it fits in well with other TRSI titles and while I would love to see a dub on it, I would still buy as a sub-only release.

I would like to recommend the following anime:
-Lovely Complex (Funny,light-hearted, and never a dull moment. It also has similar charms as Gakuen Alice.)
-Bokura ga Ita (Romance and drama. The fans of anime like Kare Kano, Paradise Kiss, Peach Girl, etc. will flock to this anime.)
-Nana (Similar reason as Bokura ga Ita. Also it already has a lot of publicity through the success of its two live action movies).
-UFO Baby/Daa! Daa! Daa! (This anime is adorable and can appeal to a wide range of ages. Also, fans of Kodocha will likely to enjoy this anime as well.)
-Nodame Cantabile (Like Hikari said, it has a big potential to be a success because of it original storyline and comedic elements.

Ef- a tale of memories: No matter where you go, it's one the highest rated shows. People love this show.

Shakugan no Shana 2 and Zero no Tsukaima 2 & 3: The first seasons are already licensed and beloved, but they just aren't as good without their sequels.

Toradora: Probably the best high school themed rom/com I've seen and very, very popular amongst the community.

Minami-Ke: This show is always mentioned with Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh when people ask about the best school slice of life shows. The 2nd and 3rd season aren't very good, but the first season is amazing.

Dubs would be nice, but not necessary. I believe, though, Ef and Toradora would translate smoothly because they aren't riddled with Japanese culture and have easy to pronounce names. Shana already had a great cast, but ZnT would need a whole new cast.

Toshokan Sensou (Library War)
Renkin San-kyuu Magical? Pokaan
Kamen no Maid Guy
The Good Witch of the West

and maybe...

Legend of the Galactic Heroes (yeah.. I know, fat chance)
Aim for the Ace (again, fat chance, but we can all hope, right?)

I would really like to see TRSI sub Myself; Yourself. It's a romance story based of a dating sim but it is very very dark for a romance. No one has liscensed it yet and it came out in Japan in October of 07 so its not to really old yet. It was such a great show its a shame its so unheard of.

Same here. However i ONLY watch & buy english dubs.Hopefully the series that were released subbed only like Aria and Maria sama will have a dub version.

As for new series, you should try licensing Queens Blade & Also Nanoha StrikerS,the Nanoha Movie,Zero no Tuskaima 2nd and 3rd Season, and Shakugan no Shana II and it's Movie. And Hopefully has a english version.

I would really suggest that you guys dub the upcoming Junjou Romantica anime instead of just having subs which i think may be a waste of money D: I mean I bought ur Gravitation DVDs and their dubbed so why not this too be dubbed?

P.S. I have watched your Gakuen Alice DVD boxset and it seems there's quite a few typos o.O esp the last ep where there was one line that was not subbed. ._.

Um it's between 13:10 - 13:20 hope this helps :3 and as i said before... you guys had quite a LOT of typos... esp. the episode called "Rais'E' the curtain, Snow White Sleeping Beauty" on the back of volume 4. You forgot the 'e' in Raise... smirk

Any reason why this series wasn't dubbed??? (was looking forward to it being dubbed D: but subbed is fine...)

I agree about Myself; Yourself. It is a great less heard of romance title.

But please think seriously about ef: A Tale of Memories, as far as I'm concerned, its the best anime ever. Amazing visuals, so emotional, gives me goose bumps each time I watch it.

Myself; Yourself does need more love than it gets. I may just be a shoujo addict but can you save the rest of Kodocha? It doesn't deserve to die. A sub only release would be nice compared to crappy fansubs on my itsy-bitsy computer screen.

I would like to see Junjou Romantica released in English and Japanese audio. If it is released in Japanese audio and English subtitles only it will be disappointing. I don't know yet if I will buy it in subtitles only I will see. If it was released in English audio I would buy it for sure.

I was soooo happy to hear Junjou Romantica getting licensed by you guys! Gravitation was great and I look forward to Junjou Romantica! ♥♥♥
It's gonna be dubbed, right? Dubbed, right?! ºwº I'd pay extra if I could hear the audio drama tracks from the OSTs in English! XD I'd pay even more if you had something like cellphone charms in an artbox! Maybe a set of postcards with art from the series? Beware of fangirls... >:D

Anyway, I suggest (if possible) 07-Ghost and Axis Powers: Hetalia. 07-Ghost because it's such a great story and Hetalia because it's so flippin' CUTE~!!

Personally (even though they probably wouldn't be very popular), I'd love to see Natsume Yuujinchou, Amatsuki, and Needless dubbed, but that's just me. ~_^

I would be strongly biased towards purchasing Myself, Yourself ... I liked the series a lot, particularly the opening theme which I bought the single for the last time I was in Japan smile

Other series, anything ToHeart/ToHeart2 related ... I have your release of series 1 and the Japanese releases of everything else (and the upcoming OVA due later this year on pre-order) but I would quite happily double dip on all of it. Ef, both series, would be a nice couple of series to have along with KimiKiss Pure Rouge and the various Minami-ke installments.

The two series though which I think would fit well with you previous releases would be Manabi Straight (in a Gakuen Alice sort of way) which is a nice school based series about people working together to achieve something against the odds and Aoi Hana (a summer '09 release currently available via CrunchyRoll), which looks to be a nice gentle series with a, slightly more yuri, Maria-sama feel.

Speaking of which, any chance of talking to someone like Yen press and trying to get the Maria-sama manga/novels released in English? smile

edit: looking back at the previous postings I think I should make clear for the record that whilst I like to have a dub available, if possible, to give me the option of watching a series that way I actually tend to watch things normally subbed anyway so a release which is not dubbed is not a show stopper for me (and I understand some of the reasons why you may not want/be able to justify a dub track for every series)

Since the first To Heart series was licensed, it would be nice to see To Heart 2 get licensed as well. I also think it would be great if Right Stuf/Nozomi were to ever license the Tales of the Abyss TV series and Kimikiss Pure Rouge. I really enjoyed all three of these series a lot and would definitely buy them and add them to my collection when/if they get licensed.

As suggested earlier, Legend of the Galactic Heroes. It's really a show that no one can go wrong with.

Also, though this would have to be a sub only by nature, there is always Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, which is up there as one of the funniest and wittiest anime out there.

Tenshi na Konamaiki (A Cheeky Angel) - Yes, it's a long series, and yes the art is a bit crude, but it's absolutely hilarious and really a shame that it has never been licensed for R1. I'd buy the DVDs in a heartbeat. frown

I'd also love to see Uninhabited Planet Survive and Glass Mask (2005 ver.) brought to DVD. They're both excellent shows that deserve way more attention.

You mean like this?
May be too late, but "Valkyria Chronicles"? I hear lots of people talking about some "Quasar" anime coming out that's to be ~the next big thing~. They were saying that about "11eyes" and "Tegami Bachi - Letter Bee", too.

I would love to see you guys pick up Angel Heart. Fantastic action show with a lot of drama.

For something more recent, Rideback looks to be a winner.

Keep those suggestions coming, gang!

We don't reply here, but we do check this thread often!

Actually, today I'm coming to ask for a volunteer...
Could one person, who will be around during the New Year's weekend, remind me to post the 2010 suggestion thread?

Let's settle who it will be now, though, so I don't have 100+ DMs that weekend! wink

What I want most from Nozomi is the rest of To Heart. And I know it's probably not possible since Geneon/Funimation has the first seasons, but I would really love to see Kyo Kara Maoh Season 3 and Saiunkoku Season 2 too.

I would like to see Gakuen Alice Season 2 Liscensed by Nozomi considering they have Season 1 I was hoping to see it soon but there is no set release date for it in the US at this time I have seen many threads of Season 2 having been aired in Japan in 2008 and reports that season 2 would be released by April of 2010 but still I have seen no pre order for it. I hope that Nozomi can get the Second Season The Manga continues to roll out and I'm dieing to see it done as anime.

How about Kure-nai?

It's actually somewhat "old" by now (the anime ran from April-June 2008 in Japan), and sadly, I haven't seen it get picked up by anyone.
...I doubt many people have even heard of it, though. ^^;

Not old in Nozomi's eyes. They rarely pick up the newest and latest titles. They usually wait for a few years for the licenses to get cheaper, before picking them up.

There are so many wonderful series long and short and OVAs out there.
I saw the Spanish dub for Pita Ten, is cute, simple, family oriented and only around 24 episodes.
Since they're lisensing shounen ai titles I'd like to see Ikoku Romantan, is a little bit stronger, but shorter than Junjo romantica and worth it!

I'd love to see old anime shows like Remi, Treasure Island, Princess Knight and Mazinger Z, and the rest of the Mazinger OVAs and movies.

Maybe I've mentioned this one before-Chocotto Sister. Sure, it's quite moe, has fanservice-but at heart it's a feel good series about the importance of family and celebrating together.

"Dennou Coil" looks like an interesting title that no one seems to have licensed yet.

I thought that "Otogi Juushi Akazukin" (Fairy Musketeers) looked like a good title for kids, but that would mean that you would have to dub it. An age-appropriate dub would make "Gakuen Alice" accessible to kids, too.

To be honest I'd like to see the entire series, all 12 years of Crayon Shinchan. I know is an extremely difficult series to subtitle due to so many puns in the dialogue and pop culture references that are unkown to us in the West.

But the dub by Funimation was a horrible, horrible, terrible, awful job. It killed the series on so many levels.
Yes the main charatcer is crude and a little lewd, but at the core he's a 5year old that just wants to have fun.
These series deserve better, they were such a hit in Japan and other countries, especially in Spain. I mean it did stay 12 years in the air for a reason!

Hi, TenTen143!

We haven't yet announced an official release date for Junjo Romantica 2, but as soon as we do, the PR will be up on the site as well as blurbs on our newsfeed, twitter and Facebook pages.

I know it's not a lot of info, but I hope this helps a little. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Ef - A Tale of Memories and Ef - A Tale of Melodies are a pair of titles that seem to perennially pop up on my radar. I've heard nothing but good things about it and I'd very much like to see them sometime. From what I gather, they'd be an ideal match for the sweet sentimental void left by the Aria suite.

How about Les Misérables - Shoujo Cosette? The source material virtually guarantees a built-in audience in Canada and Europe. laugh

I'd love to see Valkyria Chronicles in the US as well; I can provide free episode translations (but not all the song translations; I fail at kanji).

Minami-ke, pleeeeease.

This is such a great comedy/slice of life series, and it's a damn shame to not have it over here yet. I know the genre is a bit of a niche, so I doubt someone like FUNimation would license it. You folks at Nozomi/RightStuf seem to cover those kinds of series more, so I figure it'd be a better idea to request this series here. ^^; Would be ever-so-grateful if you could make this happen sometime.

I would like this title too. It would be nice to have the WHOLE series on dvd AND be completed. As joel said not only is it two eps but it would be an easy single disc release that would please many, many fans.

Since for some odd reason Funimation did not get it (or maybe waiting for the dust to settle on the merger) how about this one?

Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari

This is a spin-off of the Tenchi series, and deals with a half-brother of Tenchi.

A dub would be awesome!

In addition to my repeated requests for a Strike Witches season 2 DVD release, I would like to see Shana rereleased on DVD. Supposedly there is also a second season (series?) and an OVA(s?).

Shana is stuck until the merger with Universal Pictures of Japan and Geneon Japan is complete. They renewed season 1 (confirmed on their forums) and have acquired season 2 and the OVAs.

According to Lance (Funimation rep), they are still waiting for materials for Strike Witches 2.

So... I gather that we can bet on them coming to TRSI, it's just a matter of when?

They'll be listed when ever Funimation is ready to release them.

As long as they're at it with the Shana series, they could rerelease Familiar of Zero.

Now that one you can post in this request thread.

The title preformed poorly and won't be acquired by Funimation.

Since I recently finished watching all of it, finally, and really enjoyed it, here's another request from me that will more than likely not be fulfilled but I might as well still try anyway:

Naikaku Kenryoku Hanzai Kyousei Torishimarikan Zaizen Jotaro

When it debuted back in 2006 it was lambasted as one of the worst animes of all time, but that's mainly because the first episode is truly horrific. Thankfully, the other 10 episodes tell a really fun and interesting story of dirty politicians and businessmen taking money from hard-working citizens taxes and the organization whose purpose is to stop these kinds of things from happening. These 10 episodes easily make up for the horrible start episode 1 gives it.

Also, the DVD boxset that was released in 2007 was handled in a cool way; 4 DVDs that cover all 11 episodes, one Bonus DVD that features a couple of really cool extras (a roundtable discussion featuring the staff & cast and the TV "on-air" version of episode 1), and, best of all, the entire show was given improved animation for the DVD release; that certainly explains why the "on-air" version of episode 1 is there as an extra, since it lets viewers compare the original animation with the improved DVD animation. If someone can give this show the fair shot it deserves, and probably maintain all of the extras, it's certainly TRSI/Nozomi.

Or even the Gundam Evolve OVAs. They were all pretty cool to watch.

Well, since Bandai isn't going to be putting out any new titles anytime soon, there's a couple that i would like to see come out that they most likely would have had.

Yeah, it's always a bummer when TRSI carries the figures from a series; but not the series itself.

I sort of wish they would dub the 18+ they have...Pure Romance or whatever it's called, it's like 24 episodes I think. The fans would buy another copy if that happened.

You should rescue the old Bandai title Ronin Warriors and Dragon Drive...and Jing King Of Bandits is also up for grabs...damn Funimation only took the OVA licensee.

I'd love to see "Allison & Lillia" dubbed, and "Living for the Day After Tomorrow", as well, but how is RightStuf supposed to persuade Sentai to dub them?

Well, if Sentai did dub any of RightStuf's licensed anime...well, they wouldn't have to worry about the cost of things. RS already covered buying the license for it, the script is already there. They could always do a pilot dub to see how well it does.

I'm sure that if RightStuf wanted to dub some of their licensed anime, they could contract Sentai or whomever they wished to do the job.

"Allison and Lillia" and "MM!" and "Living for the Day After Tomorrow" are all licensed by Sentai, though. My question to B-Dub was about how RightStuf is going to manage to persuade Sentai to dub Sentai's own titles.

All I know is I would like to see MM! and Allison and Lillia and the Dirty Pair TV Series get an English DUB !

The US companies can't sell off a license to someone else. Either the license has to expire or it reverts back to Japan, because of some odd reason such as a company going out of business.

When it comes to licenses they usually last for 5-8 years.

Right Stuf is a great tool to find out how old a title is and who has it. wink

I don't think a license has to expire if another dubbing studio wants to dub an anime. Aniplex and Funimation has done it a few times, they more or less just work together, I think...if they ever choice so.

Bad example! Your example is dealing with two separate licenses.

For example, Bacanno comes into mind. Funimation acquired the DVD rights, while Aniplex USA acquired the Blu-ray rights. The licenses between the two titles was split. Since Aniplex Japan owns the franchise, Aniplex USA had access to all of the materials that Funimation made for the show (dub, subs, extras).

Dubbing studios don't acquire anime titles. They only do contract work for the anime studios that own the license to the show.

There's no way in heck that Sentai is going to sub-license to another company to get a sub only title dubbed. Sentai dubs everything that they believe will benefit from it. If a sub only license doesn't get a dub, then it's a good indication that the title just broke even or bombed.

I just want Junjo dubbed. They got Gravitation dubbed, but not Junjo, which is one of the only yaoi titles out there that got 24+ episodes, and a possible 3rd season being worked on. <.<...and oddly enough, the same studio that did GetBackers did this one as well.

I was soooo close to purchasing it while I was in Japan in May, but I thought I should hold off. Why pay the equivalent of $103 for no subtitles when I could pay less than half that in the future, when purchased through RightStuf? =D

License has expired and Funimation has no interest in the title.

So there's no possibility of any other company picking the title up? I mean I never figured it would be something Funimation would be interested in.

It could be licensed by someone else, but Funimation distributed the title for Geneon USA and had access to the sales numbers. When they said they have no interest in picking up the title. It means that the title sold poorly and the possibility of someone else picking it up is less likely. The only way Sentai for example will pick it up is if the license is super cheap.

By the way, do you know if the remainder of the series was an actual 3rd season? Or was it an OAV? Or both? I've been told all three but was never able to verify. And thanks for answering all my questions smile

According to the wikipedia article, there were three TV seasons and a 5 episode OVA:

Season one originally aired from April 3, 2004 through Feb 12, 2005 - 39 episodes
Season two originally aired from April 2, 2005 through Feb 26, 2006 - 39 episodes
The five OVA episodes were released between October 2007 and March 2008, and
Season three originally aired from April 3, 2008 through Feb 19, 2009 - 39 episodes

Unfortunately, I've never seen the series either, so I can't comment on how much of it was released here, and how much wasn't. I'm sure that you can figure that out, though, given the information above.

Hi, Sevi!

Seasons 1 and 2 of Kyo Kara Maoh (episodes 1-78) were previously released by Geneon/FUNimation, so I believe the portion of the series that never made it to the U.S. is actually made up of both the OVA and Season 3.

Hope this info helps!

Sorry if this has been brought up already but could Agua(aria) V1 and V2 be licensed for POD? I belive they are both OOP.

I realize that light novels may be out of the scope of RightStuf but I would like to get the rest of The Twelve Kingdoms. Seems ironic that the Anime and English translation of the LN stoped at the same place in the story.

To round up my request how about licensing the anime of Card Captor Sakura?
