Does anyone know or think Tokyo Pop will release the Fruits Basket manga in a box set like Viz did with the Bleach and Naruto manga.

It looks like they've done the first 4 volumes in a box. That is the only one I see at RightStuf though.

I just hope they follow through with the Fruits Basket Ultimate editions. Volume 4 was supposed to be out in October 2008, but it's still delayed.

This is going to sound like a stupid question but are the ultimate mangas the hard cover ones?

Yes, they are the hardcovers (good question). Each "Ultimate" volume contains two regular paperback volumes, and the pages/type are very large. Sometimes, I have trouble reading manga print (especially those little side comments) without bright light, so the large print is great for me. I can read them in normal light.

Note to publishers: I will gladly pay twice the price for hardcover manga titles with large pages and large type. There are some titles that I own in paperback that I would even rebuy as hardcovers.

I was just browsing Borders.com and saw that They have Fruits Basket Ultimate Edition 4 on pre-order. The thing is, it says it's coming out November 30, 2009.

Well, that's only thirteen months late. eek I hope Tokyopop's restructuring eventually solves these types of problems. It's a good thing I've got plenty of manga to read in the meantime.

I've since seen that same release date in other places, so I guess we'll have to wait. I just hope they don't pull an ADV and cancel the FB Ultimate series altogether.
