Now that you mention it, I've been doing the same thing, as most of my recent purchases have been older titles or re-releases of older titles. Unfortunately, there's a lot I've missed that's now out-of-print, or that never made it to DVD.

I did buy the new series Darker Than Black as it came out (slightly disappointing, but entertaining enough), and if Claymore comes out in a BD set, I'll probably buy it. Of course, I'll purchase Monster and Mnemosyne if I have to watch them in black and white with a sign language window, but those two are unusually high priorities for me. I'm sure they'll both get dubs, anyway.

I don't see many new/upcoming Bandai titles that I really want.

What effect will this have to the costumer? Absolutely nothing!

This is just a sneaky business maneuver and is what one of my previous employers done to say in business. Move the assets to newly created companies and drop the one company (file for bankruptcy) that has the debt.

The only difference you're going to see is a few logo and UPC changes to the DVD covers.

Or as the one person posted "It's just a big shell game"-just ADV by a different name-I could see it coming with the Sentai Filmworks thing from last year.

This does surprise me, in that I expected ADV to completely fold, not just shed its skin. lol

Well, in addition to unloading ADV's debt, AEsir Holdings is also trying to escape ADVs poor reputation. SXION 23, Valkyrie Media Partners, Seraphim Studios, and Sentai Filmworks... looks like Griffin D. Vance IV is going out of his way not to put all of the ADV eggs in one basket.

I tend to agree... but on AEsir's end, maybe there will be more stability, going foward. If so, that might eventually benefit consumers, as well as the industry (competition is a good thing). We'll just have to watch it unfold.

The good news is that they got licensed, the bad news is I'm about 90% sure that Section23 Films will release them with no dub from what I've read.
