Or try playing it on a bluray player-I've had at least a few dvds that none of my dvd players would play (including my Oppo DV-983H) that loaded up and played without a hitch on my bluray player.

Thanks for the tips regarding Trigun guys, but like I previously mentioned; it played the first sixteen and a half episodes just fine. I'm pretty sure that it's a defective disc. I've only experienced this once before, and that was on a used Stratos 4 disc. Same deal, only one (or two) episode(s) in particular had an issue. The screen starts gettting these little squares at first. It kinda looks like something from an Atari 2600 game; then it starts to lock up, and I have to turn off my DVD player. Irregardless of the problem, the solution will arrive in the mail in about 3 weeks. As far as attempting to resell the Trigun set, my personal code of anime chivalry and ethics prevents me from spreading my misfortune to anyone else (kidding). I guess I'm not really. Sure, I could get a little money back; but I would feel too guilty for it to be worth it. C`est la vie.

Yugo The Negotiator - It's a very interesting and unique show to say the least. I'm only 3 episodes in, so I don't have much of an opinion yet.

My PS3 must really be messing up, I was trying to watch the second disc of Air and about 3 minutes into the second episode on the disc it messed up and skipped ahead 4 minutes. But, I just tried it in my computer and it worked perfectly.

Just a quick word of warning about Air, it gets REALLY sad!!!

Watched disc 2 of Dai Guard, it's still fun as heck!
BTW none of the usual ADV gang are in this one (unless they use fake names).
In fact it says that the dub & subtitled version were done by Victor entertainment?

One thing that's mildly amusing is watching the old ADV stuff like the previews with their infamous "do it now" techno beat.
Plus the infamous Newtype USA ad (this one had Hillary & Greg instead of Luci & Chris).

Are you sure you didn't misread it? ANN only lists Victor/JVC among the Japanese studios:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=890
For English ADR it lists Monster Island: "Based in Austin, TX, Monster Island was ADV Films' secondary recording studio (the primary being the Houston-based Industrial Smoke & Mirrors)."
