Anywho, have y'all seen the latest news on the newest aniplex solitions?
Not on my pc so I can't give a link, it still should be on the ANN.
I'm more than happy to pay for Nisemonogatari (and will be pre-ordering that bad boy when I get home from work tommorow), but jeebus! Oreimo is just TOO pricey for my blood.
Especially since I already have the DVDs.
Shame, I would have doubled dipped for the commentaries; but that price... eek
What are your thoughts on the matter?

Oreimo stuff is imported Blu-rays from Japan. So of course it will jump up the price. They best not do that to Sword Art Online when they release it.

I tend to stay away from Aniplex releases-only one I have is the ROD bluray boxset and that's only because it was on sale for $99 during the 12 days of xmas sale.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I know it's an import, it's just the sticker shock is really something else. Sheesh, I've got to hand it to our Japanese counter parts: they are dedicated.

Nah, I don't think they'll do that to SAO; I think they'll either give us a delayed release or a gimped one like with the Nise box set.
Seems like we won't be getting the commentaries; witch ( irks me a bit in all honesty but) overall I'm fine with.

Here's hoping they don't pull a stunt with SAO like they did with Persona 4.
In that all they give us is just dubbed blu-rays.
If they are... Well at least throw in some sub-titles for us hearing impared folks like myself. smirk

By commentaries do you mean the little side thing of chibi Kirito and Asuna talking about the episodes that are on the Japanese Blu-ray releases?

Well, if you want a Blu-Ray release that's not too delayed compared to the Japanese Blu-Ray release, you'll be paying Japanese prices to prevent reverse importation...
That's the price America pays for being in the same Blu-Ray region as Japan... wink

Just stumbled over Diskotek's blog (http://www.discotekmedia.com/blog/ ) and noticed some recently posted release dates:
- "Legendary Ninja Cats" (Kyatto Ninden Teyandee/Samurai Pizza Cats Japanese version): 2013-04-30
- Lupin III Green vs. Red: 2013-05-21
- Gunbuster 2: Diebuster: 2013-05-21

Already have Gunbuster 2, but the other 2 were in my "waiting for release date/pre-order" list. smile

According to other message boards I go to, the Oreimo Blu-Ray won't have the commentaries...
