Black Lagoon is about a small "shipping" company that does a lot of smuggling work for local mafia groups. The story is set in a fictitious city in southeast asia. A lot of their work is done for "Hotel Moscow", a Russian mafia group headed by a woman named Balalaika

The story is told from the viewpoint of "Rock", a former Japanese company man who joined the Black Lagoon team under circumstances detailed in the first two episodes. The other people who work at Black Lagoon are the owner, Dutch; an electronics/computer whiz named Benny; and a female weapons expert named Revy "Two Hands".

The artwork, animation, and music are all very good, and the English dub is outstanding. The series is well worth your time.

If you like Cowboy Bebop, then you will love Black Lagoon.

Black Lagoon is like a reverse version of Cowboy Bebop. Instead of being in the future, the show is set in the past (in the 90s). The main cast of characters are pirates instead of bounty hunters who will do anything to make a buck (including bounty hunting). Spike is a female in this series (Revy and she is just as sexy as Faye) and Jet is a black dude (Dutch) with some really witty comments. There is no Ed or Ein, but we get Ben who is the computer hacker and Rock who is the main protagonist and a person we can all relate to.

I'm about halfway through Elfen Lied... here are my reactions so far:

and then I was like O_o
and then I was like O_O

Make sure to watch through the end credits on the last ep.

Black Lagoon is even better on bluray!!!!!

Still watching Kobato, I can't put my finger on exactly why; but I love this show. It makes me feel good and I often find myself laughing out loud. I'm just about done with the third disc.
