DVD Shelf 1

Did your collection appear in ANN's Shelf Life column at some point? Maybe its just a similar shelf, but your collection looks familiar.

Sadly no, my shelf wasn't in ANN's Shelf Life column. That would of been cool though. And yeah I've seen quiet a few people with the same exact shelf as me. It's only like 30 dollars at walmart. So that's probably why.

It's hard to take pictures of mine, since it's scattered (most in the closet and the rest in a DVD cabinet). However, with last week's shipment. I hit the 500th DVD mark. smile

Very nice collection Sian, I really love your figures. But my favorite thing on your shelf has to be that Read or Die picture in the first pic. Where did you get that? Also that's even more awesome that most of your collection comes from rightstuf.

Thanks ! You also have a nice collection wink !! About the the ROD picture that you mention, it's one of those pencil board that came with each DVD. I really love that pencil board so i've put it in a photo frame. If i remember correctly it was the one that came with the DVD 1 + Box.

I'd love to contribute to this thread since the Dark Lord has supplied my shelves more than any other place. Unfortunately, my bedroom is a mess since I'm working on moving to my own place. Maybe I can just post some snippets tomorrow. wink

Unless you guys want to see stacks of Avon boxes.

This is a neat idea for a thread. Perhaps I'll work up the nerve to post some shots of my collection in the future but it's not at its most photogenic right now. In the meantime, perhaps I can offer an image of a collection of a different sort:

Living Room Collection

In an attempt to quarantine my anime addiction to a single room in the house I engaged in a large-scale shelf building project in my den last June. The irony is as pictured and the dining room has remained the unofficial repository since. Oh well. What the heck do I need with a dining room anyway?

And thanks sian, I'll probably stop by dollar tree soon.

I'll try and post my collection pictures soon. I took a few years off anime (except for a few big big shows). I have no idea why I did, guess it was anime burnout and other things taken up my money and interests. I'm back with a vengeance now and going back and buying lots of shows I've missed and slowly building my collection again as well as rebuying some series that are re-released (IE: X Remix, Slayers, etc.).

My collection is nowhere near huge like lots of anime nuts are, but I think I have a good sized collection.

Great collection Harley. Excellent foresight with building in a little extra room for future growth. I'm afraid I've built myself into a bit of a corner with my premade shelves. You've a great setup so, if you think of it, please post new pics when you've got them stained and finished.

Here's my collection!

Big spinny thing
Tiny spinny thing The big spinny thing is partially cut off by my bed, but there are four sides total, and each side has seven shelves. It's completely full. The tiny spinny thing has 3 sides full, and one side completely empty. I use a lot of double-packing and thinpacking for those.

Bin next to my bed
Under the bed box
Li'l boxes under my dresser

Top shelf of closet
Top of bookshelf 1
Top of bookshelf 2 The DVDs on the top shelf of my clost and on top of my bookshelf are 2 deep.

Toybox You can't see most DVDs in my toybox. There are 66 boxes, of varying size, in there.

And I do have another box under my bed, but it's pretty much all non-anime DVDs.

Edited by Sedorna (04/24/08 12:49 AM)
Edit Reason: Forgot my toybox!

I decided to contribute as well for the hell of it. Like I mentioned, I have these DVDs in a walkin closet so it was a bit too tight in there to take good pictures. Also photobucket reduced the size considerably.
TRSI made some serious $$$ off of me the in past 10 years. smile
Not pictured are a ton of figures and video games that I keep on other shelves or in cardboard boxes.

That's great and good luck. Bamboo picks collections of all different sizes and yours has plenty of visual appeal. I wouldn't be surprised see it show up in the next few weeks. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

It doesn't compare to some of the collections so far but here is mine. And my first post on this forum. :P

My sister has an entire box from the collection that she took off for Florida with when I moved to Kansas City and it had about 100 disks in it. I have no idea when I will get them back. And I really don't want to think about how much of this I have gotten from TRSI because I know it has to be at least half of it. Those Geneon sales the last couple of years hit me pretty hard.

what I have of the collection
first shelf
second shelf
THE THIRD shelf
forth shelf

Oh, I post quite a bit at another anime board and I am a member over at AOD but don't post much over there.

My collection is absolutely TINY compared to a lot of these. However, I'll still post pics. These are a bit outdated, but not by a lot. They were taken around Christmas of this past year.

My entire shelf

First close-up

2nd close-up
3rd close-up

Last close-up

Boxes 1
Boxes 2
Boxes 3

I've since gotten rid of the Moon Phase vol. 1 + box and my Fushigi Yuugi OAV set, and obtained a few other things, including Mushishi 1 + box, and I've also changed my layout a bit, kinda for the worse. I refuse to take new pictures, however, until I have my shelves and such how I want them. That'll mean getting rid of the big white thing in favor of a better shelf and changing the purpose of the 2nd shelf that some of my DVDs are in right now. So that will likely be in June.
