How do their suits stay on?

Seriously though, I've got to say that the creators really "blazed their own trail" with their character designs, particularly the facial features; very original.

For those people interested in Macross.

BTW yes the Clash of the Bionoids movie was rather edited.

I am not sure if the slightly rarer version called "Macross" (no it's not the show but the movie) is any different.

IIRC Clash of the Bionoids had a rather odd ending. Rick (Hikaru) flys out in his really battle ready (with all the weapons & armor seen really late in the series) then he fights a bunch of Zentradi. Then it cuts back to Minmay getting ready to perform, and does not reveal if Hikaru ever gets back. That's the ending...

There were 2 sets of "armor" for the Valkyries. One set was comprised of forearm guards, calf guards, and back mounted jet boosters. This set held a lot of missiles, extra fuel, allowed for further distance travel, and allowed for full transformation. The other set was comprised of full forearm armor, full lower leg armor, full upper torso armor, and back mounted jet boosters. This set held a lot of missiles and prevented transformation.

It was the first version.

I have a fully transformable toy if a Valkyrie that has that armor on it.

There was a slight alteration for the DYRL (and IIRC certain characters in SDF Macross may have had it as well) a laser canon was attached to the upper armor near the rocket boosters you mentioned.

Was that the standard issue Valkyrie rifle which normally was attached to the undercarriage of the fighter jet mode? BTW Did you know that Valkyrie with the armor set that you're referring to was used by Transformers? It was renamed Skyfire (Jetfire).

Yes I know about Skyfire/Jetfire.

The reason they changed his look in the TV show was to avoid any sort of legal trouble. Back when I was a kid I had the option of buying that toy, but I chose to buy 2 smaller Transformers instead. They were Sludge & Blitzkrieg IIRC.

I still have some of the newer versions of Transformer toys, most of them from the G2 line.

Here is an image of the laser guns I was talking about (on the back of this Veritech).

That might be a Veritech from the Shadow Squadron. The Shadow Squadron were the modified Veritechs in Admiral Rick Hunters fleet. They were used on the return voyage in the Sentinels (where the Sentinels and New Generation storyline converge). They were invisible to the Invid, hence the namesake Shadow Squadron.

Well in the DRYL movie, all the Veritech Fighters had these.

Of course Rick was known in that movie as his original Japanese name, Hikaru Ichijyo.

All the picture were taken with a crappy disposable camera.
And they turned out even worse looking then I thought they would.
Be that as it may, here they are.

Iím always talking about condensing my Collection, now-a-days I try to make it look more like
real Cover Art, but at first, and sometimes still now, itís white background with black lettering.
Iím just saying it here, since itís so easy to spot the Cases with the white Covers.
So I wanted to explain it to those that may not know or recall.

Pic 1: Left side of computer room and Anime shelve, taken from the hallway
Pic 2: Same side taken from inside the room
Pic's 1 & 2: The lower shelve ( with the Black Rat ) all that white with black lettering you see
is from the Seven 14 disc DVD cases, containing 1 disc, Anime Movies and Ovaís.
But there are a couple 2 disc Ovaís in there as well, like Elliptical Orbit & Symbiotic Planet

Pic 3: Right side of Computer room, Anime shelve and, 3ft wide Cutaway View Picture of Enterprise
Pic 3: Second shelve from the Top, three Orange 14 disc Cases containing Anime Series and Ovaís .
That are Mainly 2 discís setís but there are a few single disc Ovaís in there.

Pic 4: 4ft wide Cutaway View Picture of Enterprise D
Pic 5: A blurry pic of some of my Figures
