Hello there!
I was wondering how you make an avatar. I chose this one because it reminded me of me when I had long hair. Anyway, yes I was wondering how it is done or if there is a site that could make one by dragging a picture of some sort.

What I do is just find an image I want to use online. Like with my current avatar the image I used is this one.

Then I crop out the part I want to use, normally just the face and resize it to 100x100 as that is the biggest the animetoday forums take.

go to photobucket, picasa, etc,. Those sites will let you crop your image to whatever size you want.

I use a program call "GIMP" but you can do it with pretty much any image program and some sites online will do it as well.

I use Adobe Fireworks (the little sister of Photoshop and much easier to use). All my avatars are custom made, though I may use the works of others. Currently, I'm using Kozue Amano's Akari Mizunashi, because I'm in love with her.

*cough*

The image is from one of her manga volumes, though I don't know which one. I don't read manga, and I couldn't find a suitable image from the anime. I super-imposed the "ARIA" text on the image, added a border, and then resized it.

Took about 10 minutes. 40 if you count the time it took to find a good image.
