I found out that a seller on Amazon was offering Macross: Do You Remember Love on DVD and, even though I figured it is probably a bootleg I took a chance and bought it. It came in yesterday and looks good packaging wise (I have not watched it yet) and includes a soundtrack CD. I figured this is the only way I will ever get this on DVD.
"Region: All Regions"
Yep, you just payed money to a criminal.
Amazon should really do manual checks on anything "all regions".
Please report it to amazon, so they can remove that bootleg; we don't want criminals to make money off of anime now do we?..
IMHO options for Macross DYRL:
- Japanese DVD/Blu-Ray without subs
- The very OOP subbed UK Macross DYRL VHS tape by Kiseki
- fansubbed files
I myself have all 3 of those.
(a bit of camera fail; no I didn't pay over 7000 yen for that...)
And IIRC there are also some instuctions floating around out there how to rip your bought
Japanese DVD, combine it with a particular fansub sub file and convert that into your own personal-use burned Macross DYRL subbed video DVD...
But IMNSHO buying a bootleg is the worst out of all the options; at least with a fansub you don't give money to criminals.
edit: huh? the forum has img tags, but they don't work?
