3. Eureka Seven
4. Cowboy Bebop
5. Wolf's Rain
6. RahXephon
7. Ghost in the Shell (any of the series and movies are all awesome)
8. Escaflowne (reminds me of when I was 15)
9. Outlaw Star (another reminder of when I was younger)
10. Martian Successor Nadesico (really wish i had the movie)

Numbers 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are the anime that drew tears from my eyes.

Neon Genesis Evangelion ranks in at 1st. I don't know why. I think it's my subconciense mind that won't let me lower it from #1.

Gundam holds the 2nd spot because...I'm a mecha fan only because of Gundams in general. Its not like I buy models for it or anything, I don't think I quite understand my fascination with this type of mecha. Maybe its the realistic future it paints in my mind. Wing Gundam, was the first Gundam series I saw, as well as the first anime. In fact, if you could tell me when Wing Gundam aired on cartoon network, I could tell you when I "fell in love" with anime.

Eureka Seven was like heaven to me, and it got me into listening to anime OSTs and reading graphic novels. I probably wouldn't have an iPod if I weren't for this series.

Cowboy Bebop was, to me, an oldy. I know it isn't that old for all you OLD ppl out there, but it was to me. It was a great mix of alot of genres. (SIGH)

Wolf's Rain, was awsome, with a sad ending, untill the VERY end, which was a little disappointing.

RahXephon was a work of art. I've got the graphic novels for it and am still reading the novelization of it as well.

As for the rest of them, they were all great, and some of my favorites. I would say I only have a Top 6 List, and not a 10. I do seem to like the works from Studio Bones a good bit, as evidenced to numbers 3, 5, and 6.

have you read any of the manga? it's just as fabulous, and really makes one realize how true and devoted the anime producers were to maintaining its integrity smile

No, I have not read many manga. I have bought gunslinger girl up to vol 6, I have read eureka seven because it came with the DVDs, and I borrowed up to like vol 12 or so of fruits basket. That’s about the extent of my manga reading. That’s not to say that I wouldn't welcome reading others it is just the opportunity has not come up.

i love a lot of the older Gundam. i find it very hard to get into a lot of the new "flashy" gundam. i did enjoy the first season of SEED because it harkened back a lot to the principles of the original gundam. my fav Gundam is almost always UC and involves the original series, 0083, Zeta, and F91.

since you enjoy Gundam, check out Souko no Strain. it's licensed by FUNi and i loved it. it's 13 episodes long and one of the best mecha human drama series i have seen in a long time.

the very end of Wolf's Rain brings the story full circle. the OP song and animation was very well thought out, and both begins and ends the anime, which in turn, creates a new beginning for Kiba-tachi. after all, what is paradise truly but a chance to start all over again and have a new opportunity to live.

studio bones does a lot of really well written, produced, and animated anime. sunrise also tends to put out a lot of anime i enjoy. my list is rather long so i kind of stopped counting a while ago and started partitioning out my soul to various companies, producers, and seiyuu.

bookstores are a wonderful thing, especially ones like borders and b&n. grab a handful of manga, find a chair, and read.

this coming from me is rather ironic since i work PT for borders. i used to grumble every time i had to put away the manga peeps leave behind. of course, manga was my "section" so it was a labor of love ^^ i'd also spend my lunch breaks (when i worked there FT as a supervisor for 2 years) reading manga smile

rolling around in the manga at the austin, TX sort where myself and 7 or 8 other border supervisors train and open a brand new borders smile

1. Cowboy Bebop
This series is in its own category.

In no particular order, these are my next four favorite titles. Some reviewers didn't like Hell Girl nearly as much as I did, but it could very well be my second favorite anime series. Maybe that's because it's still fresh on my mind, though. Time will tell.
Hell Girl
Fruits Basket
Noir
Gunslinger Girl

Beyond the top five, it becomes difficult to list my favorites. Here are several candidates for rounding out the top ten.
Elfen Lied
You're Under Arrest
Princess Princess
Witch Hunter Robin
Hellsing / Hellsing Ultimate
Berserk
Outlaw Star
Fushigi Yugi
Speed Grapher
Trinity Blood
Gravion
(Guilty pleasure? Yes, it's a bit silly and full of fan service, but it's so cute!)

i also really enjoyed Jigoku Shoujo, both the first and second season. i haven't heard news yet if the second season is licensed yet, but i hope so. i'm saving a space for it on my dvd racks laugh

I enjoy me some Hell Girl. However I have only cracked the first 3 DVDs. I do have all 6; I just have not had time.
