I'd really like to see the last few volumes of GSG get released as well. I'd imagine this to be a very lucrative title what with Funimation's upcoming release of GSG:Teatrino stirring up renewed interest in the manga.

If anyone can provide even a little tidbit of information, I'd also welcome any new news about the GSG manga.

I would like to know as well. I have patiently waited through the years of ADV sporadic releases and it would be a shame if such a stellar series stopped production here.eek

For me it's the worst possible situation because I ordered Yotsuba 4 & 5 several months ago, it was sent to me but the package is probably lost. I'm still waiting but with little hope. And now the whole series is not available.. :-/

I too would like to see GSG manga keep going. Hey Nozomi, how about a publishing division?

*yeah yeah, I agree with that guy*
*oh man, that’s the greatest idea of the year*
*if only we could see that*

I too was saddened to see that Yotsuba 5 cannot be ordered. Considering I have 1-4, I doubt I'll be buying 6 unless I can get a copy of 5.

I suppose all that remains is to hope another publisher will grab Yotsuba. Considering the popularity of the series, it could not be impossible..

Regarding GG, I've got the six volumes that were released by ADV (I only recently snagged the last one). So, is the ninth volume (Japan) the last one, or is the series still a work in progress?

According to Wikipedia, the series is still ongoing since 2002.

I've seen that, but I haven't seen a Japanese release date for the next volume, so I wondered whether that was accurate.

Got a little info on GSG manga from another anime site...

Seven Seas has announced that it has licensed Yu Aida's GSG...The Publisher will release the first six volumes in two omnibus volumes starting in Feb 2011, and then start releasing singles with volume 7. There are currently 12 volumes in Japan.

Yay!!

That's good news. Like many others, I've been waiting for Volume 7 for a while.

Ok, i've seen that vols 7& 8 are out in omnibus format, but i haven't seen anything in the singles release of these vols yet. Anyone hear anything or have plans changed and only the omnibus versions are going to be published instead?

It seems to me that those omnibus things are becoming more common, since they contain a lot more material than the normal manga.
Plus in the long run, they might be cheaper than buying a ton of single volumes (kind of like anime went to mostly 1/2 season releases instead of singles).

Not sure if Gunslinger Girl is just going to do omnibus for those volumes, but it has happened in the past for other manga at the ends of the run (though I am not sure how long Gunslinger Girl goes) such as Mushi-Shi, and School Rumble.

The latter from what I can tell.

A Seven Seas rep has stated a few times that book stores don't usually carry license rescues unless they are in omnibus format.

Has anybody read the Gunslinger Girl Omnibuses? I'd like to hear anybody's thoughts/feelings regarding the manga. I'm a huge fan of the anime. It's one of my all time favorites.

I never bought the title because of a certain spoiler that I've heard. It would be too sad to read IMO.

OMG! What?!?! cry I kinda wonder if it's good though. Being as good as the anime would be a pretty tall order.
