I have the 1st Lady Snowblood, the live action Perfect Blue and Kamikaze Girls-it's funny as hell.

I just recently watched Crippled Master 2.
Nowhere near as fun as the original. I'd say don't bother.

Just got through watching Lady Snowblood and Lady Snowblood: Song of Vengeance. The first film followed the initial manga story line of her origin and her inherited quest of vengeance. I actually found the second film a little more enjoyable. It was suspenseful and kept you guessing as to what could happen next. Being part of the Pinky Violence era of films, it had plenty of blood. The unnaturally bright red and spurting gallons kind. The actress that played Yuki had the "go to hell" look down pat. She could give you one glance and you would find yourself packing your bags. The battle scenes in the first film where more believable I think. A woman with a sword umbrella could fight off only so many men at a time you know. Cue blood spurt.

Have you seen Azumi or Azumi II? It's of the same style, lots and lots of red throughout both films. I think that it might put Elfen Lied to shame.

Elfen Lied is more shocking with it's gore though.
I'd take Elfen over the Azumi films any day.

Though I will give props to the Azumi films to a certain degree. I'm always up for a Ryuhei Kitamura film. Check out Versus & Sky High, both are pretty fun.
Tak Sakaguchi is a real favorite of mine. I'll see ANYTHING with Tak.

I just finished up a female assasin box set containing Pistol Opera and Black Angel 1&2. Pistol Opera was more confusing and harder to understand than the first time I saw FLCL. I really don't like art films.
The Black Angel movies were made much better. The Japanese really like high drama in their Yakuza/assasin films. Every hero has to have a birth secret or painful origin story. They also have to be flawed and filled with guilt and doubt about not only who they are, but what they are doing. Evidently hesitation on the trigger adds wanted suspence. It just makes me crazy. I will recommend the Angel movies, but be warned they are adult. They are very interesting views. The best aspect of them I can say is not knowing what will happen next. The former film mentioned above should be avoided at all costs. It had half it's plot missing and the other half was plain stupid.

Next on my list is the Zero Woman and Female Prisoner 701 series.
