unless you are pulling them from Europe of Australia then I would bet very heavy on them being bootlegs of the R1. I have never heard of those distributors before, but then I am not very up on my international distributors at all. and most of the time the English dub is done for R1 and then licensed out for use in other English speaking markets.

Probably bootlegs. Sometimes a show will be released in, say, Singapore and get an English dub independent of an R1 license, but it's extremely rare. Unless it's R1, R2UK or R4AUS, if it has English it's almost certainly a bootleg.

Avoid both of those at all costs.

FX is known for being bootlegged. Anything by them or anime cartoons is always 100% bootlegged and should not be bought

I thought those prices at the site I was looking at were weird. I don't often see 650min seriese in a box set going for under $20. Them being bootlegged would explain why.

Well, I'm gonna have to look a little harder to find the Gun X Sword box set i guess.

to the best of my knowledge, Gun X Sword hasn't gotten a collected dvd release here in the states yet.

Nor will it ever, most likely. It finished on DVD May 2007, and Geneon died only ~6 months later, so there was no time to do a set.

So the only legitimate GxS R1 release is in singles format (7 of them). TRSI has all but 7 in stock, but with the Geneon sale over they're nearly full price. Weren't they eligible in the $5/10/15 sale? If so, that would have been the time to grab em. But you should still be able to find all the discs, depending on how much you want to spend.

i said "yet" in the indomitable hope thet someone gives Gun X Sword some relicensing/collection love. i am ever the optimist smile

in the meantime, i'll just be keeping an eye out for the singles. used dvd stores and anime cons are good for that, too.

The only way that i've seen Gun X Sword is in the individual discs. I've seen them from $26-$37 ea. However no box sets, unless you want bootlegs, or DVD bundles.

When given a choice, I watch dubs over subs.

I find that I miss some of the art and animation in the on-screen action when I try to watch subs. I really don't like reading a tv screen, that is what manga is for in my opinion. That being said, if sub only is all that is available for something I really want to buy, then I can manage. Haunted Junction is one that I bought like that. I'll be purchasing Urusei Yatsura eventually too, so I'll have to make do with subs in that case as well.
