Personally, my list includes Yu Yu Hakusho season 4, i have the singles but since my collection is so young and small meaning my shelf is small too, the singles would go downstairs in a container. More items are Case Closed season 5, Get Backers, Pumpkin Scissors, Claymore, the Captain Tylor OVA, Black Lagoon, Monster, Beck, Galaxy Railways, Nighthead Genesis (taking a chance on this one, never heard anthing about it), Slayers, and Eureka Seven.

So, what do you guys (and ladies) have on your "To Buy" lists?
Oh, if you think a series on my list sucks, please explain why.

You might want to do some research on Nighthead Genesis. I haven't watched it but I have heard it's quite bad.

While I have a long "to buy" list, many of them are re-buys of series I sold in the past, things I want to replace volumes with thinpaks, series that I've seen and I'm waiting for a thinpak box set of, or series that I've seen and am waiting for S.A.V.E. edition-like pricing (or used) because I just don't think they're good enough to pay anywhere near their current price point. All of the re-buys I plan to do are very contingent upon price as well, so it's more a matter of "I will buy them if I find them for $X or cheaper."

Fighting Spirit volumes 1-11 and 13-15 are probably the only things on my immediate buy list since they are already at bargain bin pricing and I managed to score a "reasonably priced" volume 12 the other day.

Lol. I nearly feel out of my chair at work. Good thing the shop was empty. I think there are a few of us that seem to be here all the time.

My to buy list is long also. Three pages in a notebook. It has been neglected this year because of my trip to Japan and the Philippines. My list is mostly titles I have started and need to finish. However, there are a few I haven't started yet. Mostly box sets.
Buso Renkin
Gundam Zeta
Kurogane Communication
Key the Metal Idol
Macross Frontier
Rocket Girls
School Rumble Season 2
Sola
Soul Eater
Star Blazers
When They Cry
Linebarrels of Iron
Spice & Wolf
El Cazador De La Bruja

Wow. It is a little longer than I thought.grin

Luckily my list isn't very big (mostly because I already have so much now)
Outlaw Star-I have to get rid of my old hk R1 rip and get the Bandai set.
Dirty Pair TV-Anybody want the R2 set I have? (not for free)
Mnemosyne-Although I already have excellent fansubs of it.
The other boxsets of YUA (season 1) that I don't have (3 & 4)

Here are few I really want to get:
Glass Mask
Queen's Blade
Papilon rose
La Cordo D'oro Primo Passo
Slayers revolution
Story of Saiunkoku
Junjo Romatica
Polyphonica
He is my Master
Star Ocean EX
You're under arrest 2nd & 3rd seasons
Gaogaigar
Aria
Irrisponsible Captain Tylor
Dirty Pair
Hidamari Sketch
...and more! laugh
I actually have a hand-written list of anime I want to buy, this is just from my A-list, I've got a D-list as well.(Scary I know.)
But all the titles on your list seem fine to me. To me "suckage" is very subjective: I've seen quite a bit of anime and very rarely have I gone: "That just sucked; I want meh money back!".
Most of the time when I get dissapionted with an anime it was because of one of two things: I either fell for a series hype, or the much dreaded and oft loathed "non-ending" reared it's ugly head. Many many an awesome series have sucumbed to that evil beast.
epp...Sorry for the rant.

Notebook? Hey, I remember those!

When I was new to anime, I used to keep a list on my PC of titles that I was considering, but after I had bought most of the existing titles that I wanted, I just started to wing it. There aren't so many new titles coming out that I can't keep track of them in my head. In other words, I got lazy.

Yeah, yeah. I still have lists in notebooks. I'm old fashioned that way. It's easier to keep track of things because I use several different computers.smile

The list goes on quite a way, hah. But to name a few that take priority:

Aria -- As is, I plan to wait until they're included in a sale again. (Sadly, I didn't have the money to take advantage of the recent RightStuf/Nozomi sale.) Definitely up there on my list, though.
Baccano!
Black Lagoon
Cowboy Bebop -- Had the Perfect Sessions a few years back, but lost it when I lent it to a friend. -_- So I guess I'll settle for the Remix box set or something.
Death Note
Ergo Proxy -- Only need the final volume. Hope I can find a cheap copy somewhere. (And yes, I know of the full-series box set, but... I just like the individual DVD cases' cover art. ^^; )
Eureka Seven -- Just need volumes 2 and 11.
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence -- Bandai's release. Probably the steelbook.
Last Exile
Texhnolyze -- Quickly becoming a rarity. Hope I have the cash to grab it for cheap before it disappears. :S
Wolf's Rain

Very interesting indeed. Lots of action, a dash of horror, and a dash of comedy. Although what's more to like is the extras. The omake episodes are full of great humor and are pretty much my favorite extra in any anime ever.

All good shows that i'd recommend a good deal. You'll have a good time with these.

As for Slayers, i tried it and just couldn't get into it. If you wind up liking the series you should check out Lost Universe. While it's in the Slayers universe it's something i enjoyed much, much more (as a sub fan i'll recommend the subs of course). A worty title to add to your list.

One Piece boxsets are always at the top of my buy list. After that...

Dirty Pair OVAs
FLCL (I can't wait for the bluray!)
and maybe Strike Witches

and of course I'll be picking up the next volume of Gundam UC, but it'll be a while before it's released.

It seems to me that in anime collecting-as in any other type of collecting-if you see something you like-get it before it's gone or difficult to procure, ie-a couple of years ago I picked up a copy of 5 Centimeters Per Second for 10 bucks-now the cheapest I've seen a used copy go for is 95 bucks.........!

I know the feeling. That was one title that i didn't think would be so hard to get and because i waited i still don't have it, and still keep an eye out for it whenever i go into a store or online.

If you're talking for cheap, I'd try amazon. They sell it for 45. Not a bad price in my opinion.

My bad. blush
I just checked it on amazon and the price has jumped to 60-65.
Viz just discontinued it.
I'm glad I bought it in feb for 45 though. whistle

Ha ha! I also keep a notebook with a list of anime/manga/figures/statues I want. It's good to see the old ways aren't dead yet!

On my short list are:

To Love Ru
Soul Eater
Tsukihime: Lunar Legend

On the horizon are some series that should be coming out or finishing up soon.

Gundam 00
FMA Brotherhood
Queens Blade
Ninja Nonsense
Toradora

I know there are others but I can't recall them now since I am at work. smile

I've had all of Ranma 1/2 for years as say an "ahem-cough cough alternative version"-ie hk anime dvd R1 rips-while I liked Ranma 1/2 I just never felt any reason to go out and buy the official us version-I've watched it once since I got my sets 5 years ago.

I always made it a priority to watch/read the title as soon as I get it. At most I might have a backlog for a couple of weeks, but it's cleared out in no time.

Now, video games is a different story.

Ditto. My manga backlog is still around a 100 volumes and I don't even know about anime. I am afraid to calculate. I also have a small library of books that need my attention. At least my live-action backlog is small. Between work, yardwork and giving time to my girlfriend, I don't know if I'll ever get even. And here I am thinking about getting back into making models. I must be a glutton for punishment.

so... Should I talk about preorders here?
I just placed an order for:
Full Metal Panic (BD)
Full Metal Panic: FUMOFFU (BD)
Eden Of The East (BD)
Urotsukidoji: The Movie (BD/DVD)
Urotsukidoji: first series (DVD)
Bleach (set 6) (DVD)

I'm pretty anxious to watch Eden Of The East.

I've read very little about it, but considering that it's a hybrid, on Blu-ray, and has a 17+ rating, I might have to buy it on general principle.

do it!

I was doing some random web browsing and came across Corpse Princess. The series looks very promising. A Gainax series being released by FUNimation, a perfect combo! .. but presently the series only has preorder option for DVD. I want, nay demand bluray! Make it happen FUNimation! Don't force me into heavily considering purchasing the same title twice (again)

I've been kind of juggling a few options over the past few days, and I swear if I stumble across one more awesome deal before I make a decision (since I can only afford one at the moment), I will... I dunno. Be very upset. ^^;

Amazon's got an amazing sale going on at the moment, which tempted me to pick up Baccano!, originally. The following day or so, I found Collections 1 & 2 of Red Garden on RightStuf for pretty cheap, so I've been tempted to grab those. And then I realized that the only volume of Eureka Seven I'm missing has virtually vanished from the internet (and stores), but I've found a possibility of obtaining it (albeit for more money than I'd normally like to pay for it), so my mind is currently set on just getting that out of the way.

But other than that stuff, I've actually got a sort of RightStuf wishlist via bookmarks. ^^; At the moment, this is what's on it (although there's more that I've simply chosen to omit for the time being):
-- Baccano!
-- Black Lagoon (1-2 boxes)
-- Bleach (1-3 boxes)
-- Casshern Sins (1-2 BD boxes)
-- Cowboy Bebop Remix
-- Darker Than Black
-- Death Note (1-2 boxes)
-- Eden of the East (BD)
-- Elfen Lied
-- FMA: Brotherhood (1-2 BD boxes)
-- Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (Limited edition DVD)
-- Last Exile
-- Red Garden (1-2 boxes)
-- Spice and Wolf
-- Texhnolyze (1-6 DVD's)
-- Welcome to the NHK!
-- Wolf's Rain

I wish Right Stuf store's shopping bag would keep items for more than a given day! Sometimes I shop for items and I'll want to maybe push off actually ordering them until I'm completely ready & am not still perhaps going to toss more atop the same s/h charge.

I also wish that it were easy to look at all incomplete /unavailable /preorder seperate orders in a fashion that would allow one to combine and adjust orders with ease.

The last desire is only because I literally will make preorders months in advance at times. (not to say that I expect such a luxury, heck, amazon doesn't even offer such a comfort, not without a fair amount of hassle anyways..

So, the "save for later" option doesn't work for your purposes? I've kept things in there for months at a time.

Same here. I use the save for later option all the time and haven't had any problems.

Heck, my shopping cart *IS* the "Save for later" list. smile I always go to it first to see what I have saved there and I make orders from that list first. Then I'll go dig around the bargain bin or weekly specials areas to finalize the list before I order. That "Save for later" list is about the best way to keep track of stuff I like and so far, I have had it save items for well over 3 months before with no deletions.

to be 100% honest, I never bothered to click that button.
..In fact I had to revisit the store just to see what y'all were referring to.

I suppose that this does indeed serve my purposes..

Like others said, that's what the "save for later" section in you cart is for. The reason why the carts time out is because of the counters. When you put an item in your cart, it removes the item from the actual inventory/stock. When the cart times out, the item goes back into the inventory.

Note: The "save for later" section is Right Stuf's version of a wish list. Putting an item in there doesn't remove the item from the inventory.

This will be most noticeable on Bargain Bin items that contain counters. Put one of those items in your cart and the counter goes down by one. Remove the item out of your cart and the item goes back up by one.

I'm assuming that you're talking about the online order status? Just click on the "archive order" button on the "shipped complete" orders. This will hide them and all you will have left in view is the open orders. If you want to see any of those complete orders again, simply click on the "view all your orders" link.

oh, I play with that section all the time to remind myself of what orders I have already made/etc.

I just wish that I could edit orders with simple drag/drop or "check mark /check mark/ combine items into single order". As opposed to sending written requests to customer service.

As previously stated, often I'll preorder months in advance, only to make more preorders weeks later, then place another order much closer to release date, & by the end I'll have about 3 separate packages all being sent for the same time frame.
.. Or worse, one of my orders will be broken into two deliveries (as opposed to 3 or more) & due to the specific release dates I'll receive 1 weeks to a month post actual release date due to the fact that a week prior I had been sent one of my other packages & the order is being withheld so that it may be sent along with my final product. .... All the while this is occuring with the order placed on #-#-## date, had I been able to swap items with the order I had placed on a different date, I could have arranged the release item dates together in such a way that nothing (or much less) is being withheld for later shipping.

There's no such thing as ordering too much anime, as long as the money is there. And we all think about that stuff when we're shopping (at least I do).

If that feature were available, customers would be making adjusrments to their orders every hour. lol

In theory, that makes sense, but in practice, I suppose it varies from customer to customer as to how useful that would actually be. In my case, I have so many stacks o' stuff that haven't yet been watched or read, that it's extremely rare for me to care when my anime orders arrive (within reason). But, that's just me.

It depends on the anime in question for me. I mean, yeah, generally I like to receive everything ASAP, but it's only really critical with certain items.

Like when I was purchasing every individual volume of Death Note. I'd easily cram the entire disk into a night's viewing. But, yeah, I suppose that there are plenty of other series that I haven't seen episode 1 of. Yu Yu Hakusho, for instance, I have 4 collection sets and have only seen .. less than 15 episodes, I imagine.

Anyone considering the bluray release of Ghost Hound?
It's got an msrp of 80 something but is popping up for preorder at various sites in the 65-70 range.
This release is coming from Sentai and features a dub. ..I believe it comes out around September.

I'd do it without thinking twice if it weren't for the fact that I already have so many other preorders..
For the time being, I'll just settle for asking y'alls opinions.

Heh, every one of these is on my want list. smile

I'm also looking forward to the Queens Blade compact collection. I waited around and didnt get the singles because I knew that just after MB released the last disc of the series, they'd release the collection too.

But what I really want is my Ikki Tousen Dragon Destiny Disc 3!! I have had that on preorder for well over 3 months now and it just keeps getting pushed back by MB. If it gets pushed back again instead of being released at the end of this month, I am gonna have to choke a b!tch at MB..... laugh

I added the collection version of Bamboo Blade to my "To Buy" list over on DVDaf. I also added the 2nd season of Haruhi as well.

I am interested in getting the rest of Hellsing Ultimate, and the Trigun movie when they get released. Also when they bring out Strike Witches season 2 I will surely at least rent it (and then buy it later when they do a full series set).

..... aka: WISH LIST .....

In addiction to being in a battle with fye to get them to get the
Fulfillment Center To log in the DVD Iíve returned so Iíll stopped getting those, Harassing "Return Delay"e-mails .
USPS Tracking shows it arrived there on the 25th of Jan.
( That Fulfillment Center just so happens to be right down I-65 from me,
Iíve often thought about going to see just what it is, Probably no more than a Warehouse )

These e-mails are sent to remind the buyer that he ( or she ) asked to return a DVD
( and received a Return Authorization ) but hasnít sent it back to them yet.
But to me itís just harassment, fye Customer Service says if anything is done to
stop those e-mails then it cancels the Return Authorization.
Aaarrrhhhhh !!!! cry

So that was the, "In addiction to",now on to what I was going to Post.

It looks like fye changed their Site and totally Wiped Out my Wish List.
Man, Iíll never be able to build that back up completely.
Whether itís fye, Amazon or RightSuf, I come across, old, odd, interesting stuff all the time.
And the only way to keep track of and remember it, is to put it in That Sites Wish List.

And the key Words, Anime & Japanese Anime have been removed from the Key Word Search List that use to be over on the left hand side of the page.
And if you do a "Anime" word search, it only shows Titles with the word Anime somewhere in the name.

And the list is only 4 pages, less than One hundred Titles, as oppose to the Old Site where if you typed in Anime youíd get thousands of Title hits.
And the Site as a whole sure seems to be less User Friendly than it had been.
frown

One thing I did bring up when I last spoke to an fye Customer Service "Supervisor" the other day
( about the Return Delay )
I told her theyíre the worst when it comes to having to return items ( for whatever reason ) but a lot due to poor packing.
And of course, they're the worst at getting your Money Refunded as well.

I told her fye is dead last when compared to Righstuf, Amazon and even ebay.
And I told her the returns to fye are greater in number ( and this is true ) than all the other three combined.
One thing is she agreed with me, and she told me itís not the first time sheís heard that.

Of course none of this is going to help me with any problem Iím having with them butÖ.
Ah, I do feel better now ! grin

Oh, the Moral of the Story ???
RIGHTSTUF RULES !!!
grin

Quite the thread necromancy... wink

I just keep my wishlist in a simple text file on my harddisk.
W.r.t. anime it's more like a "waiting for move from announced to pre-order" list for me:

- Legendary Ninja Cats (Discotek 2013-04-30)
- Rose of Versailles (Nozomi part 1 2013-05-01, why doesn't part 2 have a release date yet?)
- Colorful: The Motion Picture (Sentai 2013-05-14)

- Lupin III Green vs. Red (Discotek 2013-05-21) (not listed at Rightstuf yet)

- Samurai Pizza Cats (Discotek) (2013-summer)
- Lovely Complex (Discotek) (2013-07-09)
- Captain Harlock TV (Discotek) (2013-06/2013-07?)
- Tekkaman Blade II (Discotek) (2013-??-??)
- Eureka Seven AO (Funimation) (????-??-??)
- Appleseed XIII (Funimation) (????-??-??)
- Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine (Funimation) (2013-summer)
- Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari/Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar (Funimation) (2013?-??-??)
- Mardock Scramble 3 (Sentai) (2nd half 2013/1st half 2014?)

And then there's my "to buy" list for Australian releases:
- Dennou Coil (Siren Visual)
- Higurashi Kai (Siren Visual) (if for Kai the time between half season sets and full season set is the same as for the first series, I guess the Kai full season set might be released around May.)
- further Gundam Unicorn DVDs (Madman) (will be a bit silly, since the AU release is 1 episode/vol, while the USA release was 2 episodes/vol, So I'll end up with 1+2, 3+4, 5, 6, 7)

Edited by SD Maruko-kun (02/10/13 06:56 AM)
Edit Reason: Lovely Complex exact release date added
