Mononoke Hime is very good. but then, it is Miyazaki after all. speaking of his and Ghibli's movies, if i had to list an absolute top 3 then mine would be (in no particular order):

Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind
Porco Rosso
Whisper of the Heart

and as a side dish: beating out Interstella 5555 by quite a few years, the musical masterpiece On Your Mark smile

For me it would be in no particular order

Nausicaa of the valley of the Wind
Castle in the sky
Princess Mononoke

(then again these are the only three i have by Ghibli grin)

Putting DVD buying on hold for a while so I can attempt to tame my backlog.

Back log, like tradition, get me through those rough times when not much good comes out or I've run out of extra spending money. Also, around the holiday time when you don't want to spend a bunch of money on stuff you may be receiving later anyway.

one of the reasons i dun like having backlog is because i like to go back and revisit my old friends. i've watched at 3/4 of my collection at least twice, and some series many more times then that. part of my anime enjoyment is rewatchability, especially when i catch moments, references, clues, etc i missed the previous time.

Fair enough, though my next play log includes second or third watchings. I know I'll be coming into a relatively slow release period for my personal tastes so I'll be able to work through more of my watching list.

Very nice. Do you use anything special to track your collection?
