Obviously SCEA wouldn't touch it, and I wasn't trying to pay $150 to get it repaired with just a 30 extended warranty anyway, as I've heard of many repaired PS3s dying again shortly after being revived. Luckily some people still really want 60GB JP PS3s, so I was able to sell my broken system for $400 (and yes, I let them know it was broken) and used that to buy the LE Gunmetal MGS4 PS3. Hopefully that never gives me any trouble because I have no interest in the hideous slim, and Sony really needs to lower their repair fee and extended the not so extended warranty.

I'm sure you can get some value for less money, but I'd rather pay more for something brand new (assuming it works). I know that I can't get a "real" PS3 (Emotion Engine, etc.) new anymore, but a used one simply doesn't appeal to me.
