Right Stuf, Inc. and Nozomi Entertainment are pleased to announce the release of the ARIA THE ANIMATION DVD Collection on September 30, 2008.

Aria the Animation is the first of three television seasons, plus an OVA (original video animation), that comprise the anime adaptation of Kozue Amano's best-selling manga of the same name. The Aria anime is helmed by Director Junichi Sato (Princess Tutu, Sgt. Frog, Sailor Moon/ Sailor Moon R) and features animation by Hal Film Maker (Boys Be..., Pretear, Slayers Premium, Sketchbook ~full color'S~). The franchise's third season, Aria the Origination, completed its TV Tokyo broadcast in March 2008.

Amano's 12-volume Aria manga and its two-volume prequel, Aqua, are both published in North America by TOKYOPOP. In Japan, Aria was originally serialized in Mag Garden's Comic Blade magazine.

Visit aria.rightstuf.com for more information about Aria and the Aria the Animation DVD Collection.

About ARIA the ANIMATION (Season 1)

In the early 24th century, Mars has been terraformed by mankind into a sparkling planet covered in water. Akari Mizunashi, at the age of 15, has left everything behind to travel to that reborn world, now known as Aqua. More than anything, Akari wants to be an "undine" – a female gondolier who navigates the canals of the Aquan city of Neo-Venezia. As she begins her training with the prestigious Aria Company, will she be up to the challenges that await her on the path to achieve her dream? Contains the complete 13-episode first season.

That’s a very good looking box. Is this going to be a slim pack box or similar to Bandai and how they do their complete collections?

TRSI has a track record of making thinpak box sets/collections.

Yes but, this is a release they are doing *I assume* on a budget. And the Bandai form of collections is quite a bit cheaper then thinpack sets. But the reason I am wondering is because if it is thinpacked, what the cover art for the disks would be. There is just so much beautiful art in and around this anime that it would be a shame to not use as much of it as they could.

i have to second that. the artwork of ARIA is gorgeous, both the anime art and the original manga art which is jaw-dropping stunning. ARIA is an anime which deserves to be pimped out as much as possible.

along with the anime (all 3 seasons *sparkles*) i'd love to see TRSI make a franchise out of ARIA with licenses of the cd soundtracks and artbooks ~drools~

It's another Thinpak(tm) style box, just like Super Gals S2, Emma and Maria.(And we agree with y'all: There's so much pretty art for Aria... smile )

can ya give any hints to what will be on the cover of the cases? like, is it going to be one of the girls on each cover, or will it be the 2 main from each company on each disk so you get all 6 of them *my vote if it isn't final yet*, or just some lovely landscape shots? thanks much Miss Roberts

Nice box. And I'm glad to hear it's a thinpak.
