Descendants of Darkness Graphic Novel 1 (200 pgs)
Matt Pawlak - Nov 24 2004 berjedutch@aol.com Rating: Wonderful! a cool supernateral story that you'd almost think was shounen-ai I bought this book a while ago, and I've just reread it. The story is about Tzuzuki, a shinigami, whose job it is to collect the souls of dead people who do not paas on on time. His eventual partner(not romantically, though sometimes it almost seems like it) shares in the dangerous adventures of working a the Ministry of Hades. I love this book and i'm planning on buying the rest of the series. Tinna E. Lacey - Jul 29 2005 kitty17@netscape.com Rating: Wonderful! It draws you in and Muraki give me the creeps. Beautiful deadliness. This can be a very serious storyline. But, it does usually have its comical moments to relieve the tension. I will definetly be getting the whole manga series. Jessica Carter - Aug 24 2007 tigger_300@hotmail.com Rating: Wonderful! Fantastic artwork, wonderful characters and an amazing storyline! I bought this manga series after watching the Descendants of Darkness anime, and I must say, I loved it. The artwork is fantastic; Yoko Matsushita pays special attention to every detail and the story just seems to leap off the page. Along with the great images, the characters also have unique personalities which meld wonderfully with each other adding to the flow of the series. Though the series is a little dark at times, there's always some humor added in for flavor, making the story an addicting piece of work. I highly recomend this series to anyone looking for a dark and facinating read. Punk Anarchist - Oct 23 2007 Rating: Wonderful! Fascinating Before I get down to business, there are a few things I need to say: Volumes 1,2, & 3 are wonderful! Volume 4 is pretty good to okay (it sorta took away from the main plot) 5 was pretty good, 6 was okay,(both took away from the main plot) but the 7 & 8 we go back to wonderful! I'm, sorry to say that the last three volumes sucked, especially volume 11. How could Yoko Matsushita do that to Hisoka!? I hoenstly think she should've stopped after book 8, because volumes 1-8 were very good, even if some of the books took away from the main plot. But 9-11 sucked ice. Just a piece of advice, I would get volumes 1-11 just to complete the collection, but I would read volumes 1-8. Now that thats out of the way, I will say this: Besides that last three volumes, Descendants of Darkness is one of the best manga. Its full of mystery, suspense, and beautiful artwork with wonderful characters. I have even come to love Muraki, even though he scares me, you just gotta love the villains. Its a good mystery and suspense. If you're into that, you'll love this manga. |
