Handel S. Williams - Dec 21 2003 Prodigal22@aol.com Rating: Wonderful! INSANE! INSANE! INSAAAAANE! They do not come much crazier than this one. I will have to see future episodes, but for the time being I will go so far to say that it is at least somewhat crazier than FLCL, if that is possible. For one thing, the gags come at you a bit slower than FLCL, so at least you can follow them. Don't get me wrong, I love Naota & Haruko, but Sasshi (Satoshi) & Arumi at least seem to have a healthier chemistry going on. SO how can I explain this without spoiling it for you? Lets see. . . EVA, GUNDAM, DRAGONBALL Z, CHEESY RPGs, BRUCE LEE, PEEPING TOMS and PERO PERO TOO? That made absolutely no sense and yet completely described volume one of this wild series. IF you have not seen Excel Saga or FLCL, I suggest watching at least one of those series before entering the Shopping Arcade, for your own sanity. P.S. See how many references & parodies you can pick up without the Ad-Vid notes turned on, especially in episode 3, and don't be afraid to use your DVD player's slo-mo button, you'll need it! Enjoy! |
