In June of 1990 the Su-27 became one of the first Soviet fighter jets to fly in American airspace since before World War II when it flew at the air show in Oklahoma City. This program contains footage of that air show where the Su-27 flew against its western counterparts; the F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-14 Tomcat, and the F/A-18 Hornet.

Unique to the Frecce Tricolori, it is the only acrobat team that flies 9 planes in formation and 1 plane specifically solo. By flying only one plane solo, rather than having various planes perform solo, the Frecce Tricolori is able to add more flexibility to their program and also fly tighter formations than any other team.
