Rating: "Okay."
An Oldier but a Goodie
The animation style is old but Highly Detailed. The storyline for the most part is pretty good- Young commerical pilot in Japan gets suckered into working for a Mercenary Airforce in the Middle East. He signed a contract that he must payoff by getting points for shotting down enemy aircraft, the only catch is he also has to pay for the up keep of his F-14 fighter (fuel, repairs, ammo, missiles) so you can never earn enough to get out of the contract basically). Oh yes he was forced into this by a manager at his work who had the hots for his girl friend (a great way to get ride of the competition).

The story is good (until he tries to use the machine gun on his fighter to shoot off a bomb that is attached to a 747 airliner - that's just doesn't make sense AT ALL!). Otherwise the air combat is pretty good.

Otherwise it's a story about a guy who wants to get back home to his girl but the closer he gets to his goal of shooting down enemy aircraft the more he starts to change inside as the bound for his flying brothers and their way of life goes on.

I give this a MUST SEE rating - it is old style animation but Highly Detailed so alot of work went into this. Warning- the art work on this re-release box set is New Artwork, not the type you will see in the series - just wanted you to know - still worth seeing!!
