C B. O - Sep 15 2004 OgieDoggie@aol.com Rating: Not all that good. A real let down from what we saw in R.O.D. TV Vol #1 This is a real disappointment from what we saw in R.O.D. TV Volume #1 1. it looks like a different team did the animation on this one giving it a much cheaper look. 2. they changed the personality of the Dumb Blonde sister (Michelle) she is no longer a dumb blonde but is really aggressive and smart. The tall sister Maggie is now 6 inches shorter than before. 3. there is very little interaction with the main character Sumiregawa the writer. 4. the stories are really boring or just DUMB! Am sorry gang but I would PASS on this one! I really hope Vol #3 will be better because Vol #1 was really good! Handel S. Williams - Sep 24 2004 Prodigal22@aol.com Rating: Wonderful! Everyone is entitled to their opinion I agree that the art quality was not as good as that of the first disc, but being American and having watch 20+ years of American cartoons, I am used to what I like to call "off day" animation. As long as there is a good story, I am still hooked, and vol. 2 is continuing a good story. C.B.O. wanted to know my opinion of this volume so here it is - first & foremost, one has to understand that Nenene is NOT the main character; Anita is. I'd be spoiling things to say more. There are about 3 subplots intertwined in the main plot and anybody who watches stuff like Ghost In The Shell knows you don't always get it the first time. I really liked these episodes because although they were light on action, they really go into character development, something some animes are lacking these days. With the mystery and clue elements going on in this disc, it had sort of a Master Keaton feel (check that out too). I am also looking forward to volume 3, I have a feeling things will get more mysterious. |
