Ok, The Outlanders or Outlanders is an anime about this Princess named Kahm, who finds a human on Earth and is attracted to him and wants to marry him. But her father disapproves of this and demands the human to be put to death. So Kahm tries to save her husband to be and escape her father. The ending was a bit of a letdown. I mean it was a happy ending. But it felt hallow in a way. But I still like that it tried its best to be a great anime. But it just could of been much more! I hate it when they do that to anime! It really pisses me off. Oh well It was a nice little movie. I think the fans of the manga would be the only people to appreciate this. Well, thats my review and I hope it helps. John R. Schlosser - Feb 20 2006 Rating: Wonderful! One of the best by Manabe Outlanders is an adaptation of the epic manga by Johji Manabe. Although the OVA only covers about the first third or so of the manga, it does an excellent job of compressing the plot of the first ten issues. Redub sucked changed the feel of the movie The redigitizing of the movie is great but the redubbing of the movie was totally worthless, the voice actors made it sound like a kiddie movie. Also there were changes in the actual dialogue which were big enough to make the story line feel different. I would recommend finding the version before the 20th annaversary edition and spend your hard earned dollars on that. John Creen - Feb 16 2007 Rating: Pretty good! Old Fashioned Anime and Proud of It!! I watched this a few days ago and really enjoyed it a lot. I wanted to see how it compared to the manga so I downloaded it and read away. Being as this ova is only 50 minutes long there's no way it can cover 34 volumes of manga-but it does a fairly good job of it. It's old fashioned 80's anime and it shows in the character design and spaceships which have a very organic look. If you watch this and then watch Urusei Yatsura Beautiful Dreamer you might notice some resemblences-but I think it wasn't really intentionel-more like chance. Anyway-good retro watch. ROY A. I'LL SAW THIS STORY AND COMPARE IT TO THE MANGA,(COMIC BOOK); AND THE ANIME, (ANIMATION MOVIE). THERE ARE ALL THE MAIN CHARACTERS IN THE ANIME, IT A GOOD ANIME TO WATCH, BUT; THE MANGA IS BETTER READING. THIS STORY IN THE MANGA IS A COMPLETE STORY. ALL IN ALL, THE ANIMATED MOVIE IS VERY GOOD TO WATCH. Ogie Doggie - Jun 12 2009 ogiedoggie@aol.com Rating: Pretty good! Old style anime the way you like it. I thought this was pretty good. Old 1980's style animation but well done and remastered (very clean lines). The story was easy to understand and follow and it was funny. The English dubbed voices matched the characters very well (something am picky about). My only compliant is that this is only 48 minutes long which means its only Volume #1 of this story and I want to know where the rest of the story is and when will they release it because I hate to get into a story and not know how it ends. Once again if you can get it at a good discount then I would rate this as a MUST SEE if you like old style anime and you like it spicy and hot. |
