Continuing the lessons taught in the first volume, Contemporary Japanese: A Text for College Students Volume 2 contains 12 chapters, broken into 55 short lessons, each involving a variety of activities and designed to be covered in a single session. An audio CD containing pronunciation guides, and dialogs for each chapter is included with the book.
The lessons in this book take you beyond rudimentary Japanese in more advanced dialogue. For example, topics include exchanging opinions, customary language used in giving and receiving, and describing the appearance of people and things.
The Japanese language portions of this book are written primarily in the Japanese scripts of kana (hiragana/katakana) and kanji with furigana (hiragana in small print above the kanji character as a pronunciation guide) to further language immersion.
