First and foremost this series is not for the faint of heart, it's filled with many dark and contraversial subjects, such as rape, child molestation, murder, and much more. This series is as dark as they come and it plays its dark nature to the hilt. Much like Lodoss War its first episode takes place later in the series(in this case after the series has ended)and is told in flashback format. Our main character is not your stereotypical hero, he isn't benevolant, merciful, or anything of the sort, but when you understand his past you will know why his nature is such. The battles are sweeping and epic and there is much political intrigue, and the God Hand seem paralell to the Cenobytes from Clive Barker's Hellraiser. The Darkest, Most Violent Anime Ever I had played the Berserk video game on Dreamcast a few years back and loved it. So when I heard that the Berserk anime was out, I was eccstatic. I ran out the day it came out and bought it with the artbox. When I got home and watched it I was amazed and stunned, glued to the TV for that sweet two hours, unable to move. And from then on, I was hooked. I have since ordered all the R1 DVD's so far as well as the entire set in Japanese. I will agree with other people and say this as a warning, if you're under the age of 18 or have problems seeing depictions of rape, and child molestation, as well as extreme gore and violence, then DO NOT buy this series, as it contains every one of these subjects. IF YOU DONT LIKE THIS AMINE YOUR STUPID Berserk to me is the best anime i have ever seen. I have all the episodes in japanese(because the english dubbing is stupid and all of those who made it english dubbed and made the dumb outakes part on extra need to be shot). As i was saying i have seen all the episodes and have discovered that they stop at where episode 1 begins. I had heard rumors that they will make more episodes later on but then i heard some other rumors saying that they aren't going to. I am teling you this so when you see how great this anime is you can help me by sending e-mails to the producers and other top people to make them continue the series so it wont end in such a paradox. HIGHY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
