This is the best movie of our generation
For years I've enjoyed the expansive manga and series from Japan Dragonball(Z and GT as well.) With Dragonball GT being my favorite, but I had not truly experienced Dragonball until I saw this movie.

Everything about this movie is perfection. The graphics, despite the fact from being made in 93, are easily on par with the recent Star Wars Episode 1.

The dialogue is some of the best I've ever seen come from modern entertainment. I have copies of the screen play that I read nearly everyday! Such classic lines as "We have to find the Dragon Pearls," and not to forget "AGH, WHERE ARE THE DRAGON PEARLS!"

The music is easily better than the anime had, better than any anime has had. Probably better than any music ever put into a movie. I LOVE IT!

The acting is probably the best to come out of Japan yet, why haven't I seen these guys winning tons of awards? IT'S CRAZY. I really have to commend Master Roshi's actor for doing so well, amazing work there.

To end the review I simply have to say that, in my opinion, this is easily the best movie I've ever seen. I have three copies, one for each VCR! The amazing plot will keep you on the edge of your seats the entire time, and is easily the most memorable storyline EVER. The characters are unforgetable, the directing has produced a masterpiece of the finest order. I reccomend buying this product with every ounce of my being.

Changed my life
Everything about this film screams excellence.

We'll start with the acting. This is fine, fine acting, some of the best I've ever seen. I don't care what American movie you've seen, it can't compare to the masterful acting in this film. I truly believed they were the characters they were portraying. It's hard to make me feel that way. I usually see them as "just actors." Not here.

The writing is simply amazing. Why can't American movies have such good writing? Why can't other Japanese movies have such good writing, for that matter? I'd give you some examples, but the movie is just so wonderful, I'd end up quoting the entire script (which, by the way, I have memorized).

The music is excellent. It fits every scene it accompanies perfectly, and I love it. I need to find the soundtrack so I can listen to it all the time!

The special effects? Step aside, Independence Day, Star Wars, and the Matrix (which were also all excellent, by the way... especially ID4). This movie blows you away, its effects are simply amazing, especially considering the movie's age.

This movie really changed my life. It's made me a better person, and it's helped me to see that drugs are very bad and dangerous. I even dumped my old boyfriend so I could watch it more. I think the only time I'm not watching this movie is when I'm at church or learning about how much Jesus loves me from my mom and dad! Way to go. This movie is one in a billion.

A classic, inspiring story.
What can I say about this film that hasn't already been said? A true classic, one that people will be looking at for years. This is what all anime should be like.

I loved every aspect of this movie. There isn't a flaw to be found in the movie. The voice acting is great, the dialog is PERFECTLY translated, and the music is... well, let's just say I had to buy the soundtrack :).

If you don't own this movie, you should rot in hell. Anyone who doesn't have this movie is a waste of space. Buy at least three, in case the disc gets scratched. It's a perfect 10, two thumbs up.

Now if you would excuse me, I have to get back to watching it for the 2,234 time.

The single solitary reason for the existence of the human race
Over the years, great movies have flashed across the screen before our eyes, provoking emotions from us. Making us cry, laugh, hate, love...movies of epic proportions, indeed.

However, these may as well be steaming piles of feces when stacked up to Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins. Honestly, I do not hesitate to say that this movie is the sole reason for my existence on this mortal coil. Without it, I would truly be lost.

This movie has renewed my faith in the human race. Its shown me the light....I owe the sanctity of my very own soul to this movie...no, film. No, god. This movie is beyond "movie" and "film." It is a motion picture GOD.

This god has taught me important lessons that everyone needs to know to make it in this crazy world. Such thought provoking, deep quotes such as "We've got to find those Dragon Pearls" and "I wonder where those Dragon Pearls could be?" are LACED throughout this godly feature god and have inspired me to move on.

This god is also a visual masterpiece. Although it was masterfully crafted (the verb "made" simply does it no justice) in 1993, its special effects easily rival such movies as The Matrix and Multiplicity. The martial arts scenes are what dreams were made of. Step aside Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan....you don't stand a chance when stacked against these angelic masters of the martial arts, grace, agility, penmanship, stop-sign crafting, and just about every other possible ability a human being can learn.

Everything about this movie just eminates hope, joy, and inspiration for the future. When I first bought it, I was a 16 year old pale, lazy bum with a shriveled black heart and an unknown gender. Now I'm a 16 year old male with a fine muscle definition, a tan, a heart of gold, and an unknown sexual preference! This god honestly changed my life. I thank everything that is holy for allowing me the chance to be with it.

If you LOVE Dragon Ball, then stay away from this movie!!!
I don't have the words to descibe how horrible this movie was!!! This has to be one of the worst movies I'd ever seen. I had never heard of it before and I bought it because it was Dragon Ball. I am sorry to say, that I'm ashamed of my purchase. I've read those other reviews, and I don't get it (I was waiting to see someone write "April Fool"). They must of been high on something bad, because the whole movie was TERRIBLE, from start to finish!!! The effects sucked, the acting sucked, the story sucked, everything sucked!! The producer, director, the actors, and the crew should all be assassinated for tainted the Dragon Ball name. If you watch this movie, you may hate Dragon Ball. I would choose getting AIDS before spending money on this garbage again!!
