This series are pretty funny, and the reason I bought it was because it has a spanish language option, all 3 languages are pretty good, for those who are Latinos like me this is a good anime hit!. Humorous anime in my opinion is hard to come by. I have seen a majority of the anime shows that are "funny" and most of them while bringing a smile to my face doesn't make me laugh. Saber Marionette J has changed my opinion of "comedy anime" GREATLY. I don't think I have laughed harder at anything in my life excluding a few. The comedic approach in the show, while at times over the top or has an abundance of innuendos, does it in a way to where you can't help but laugh. The facial expressions on the characters helped convey the comedic insanity that this show portrays and I feel this is one of the best shows ever made. Lydell - Mar 23 2001 Rating: Wonderful! If you liked Tenchimuyo you'll enjoy this I really thought this anime was great, it doesn't disappoint when it comes to humor and action. If you enjoyed the earlier Tenchimuyo's or any of the El Hazards, then you'll like this anime. Saber Marionette has a great deal of comedy like the Tenchi series, but it has more action and fights scences. With that same Tenchi feel, excluding that sad Tenchi in Tokyo anime series thats out now. If your looking for a good laugh, get this series as fast as you can. Later James B. Krause - Dec 14 2002 rkrause@ycp.edu Rating: Wonderful! A charming comedy-drama with a heart of gold One could call Saber Marionette J a cross between Ah My Goddess and Tenchi. It has the sweet relationship development of one and the tug of war comedy of the other. However much like Trigun it seems to shift from comedy to drama abruptly without making a smooth transition. However unlike Trigun, Saber Marionette recovers and delivers a strong finale. The show has some very tender moments, some of which left me in tears. Other moments will have you rolling with laughter. This show also has one of my favorite characters, Henagata Mitsurigi, he's just so damn funny. The dub is iffy but some of the voices are quite good especially Henagata's english VA. The drama and comedic antics of this series are reason enough to give this series a look. I had never heard of it, and the big goofy picture of Lime on the cover...worried me. After delaying watching it as long as I could (I even watched the English dub of Ronin Warriors before this!), I knew I just had to figure out what this series was about. 25 minutes and a whole lot of great qoutes later, I was addicted. The first four episodes are pure magic, with lots of Tenchi Muyo!-like comedy and romance. The last episode on the first disc introduces Bloodberry, a Ryoko-like character, and from then on, Otaru's love is a 3-way battle. Poor Hanigata. The mischief these characters get into is crazy, from blowing up military facilities to other..more emotional things. Roccisano - Apr 24 2004 bubblegumbebop@hotmail.com Rating: Wonderful! a very respectable anime A very good story i have no idea why saber marionertte-j is barely recognised. it's a very good story overall, with the best character growth an audience will experience. it's well planned out in that all the characters have their turn in the spotlight. it's very funny although the fan-service doesn't work with the themes of the episodes-(evil cyberdoll chicks with humungus breasts)-and in that confusingly not sexual. Although you could ask what would possess a person to think certain ways -(reference ultimate to bad guy) but what does that have to do with the overall feeling after watching an episode -nothing. i feel great after i see an episode, and the ending was really something to achnowledge. Overall, screw tenchi muyo and get this! |
