I have seen the whole series and i didn't it would be that good bc well, its about a freaking board game, i mean come on, how good could it be, well let me tell u, its pretty good. You learn abt IGO aka GO, and you get interested in the story.. overall out of a rating up to 10, i give it a 7.5 so basically its worth watching and owning (in my opinion, so give it a chance and see if u like it... :-p Jennifer Wingert - Mar 17 2006 Rating: Wonderful! Some of the best story-telling on the planet! This series is addicting! Beautiful character designs, delightful music, and cliff-hanger endings--you won't want to stop watching until you find out what happens next! Parents and children can enjoy "Hikaru No Go" together, since it boasts both humor and sophistication. "Hikaru No Go" also makes a wonderful change from all the fighting and gaming anime aimed at kids. And, mixed in with all the laughs and suspense, there are lessons about dealing with loss and victory, about how to strive for a distant goal, and how to maintain composure under stress. There are even little go lessons at the end of every episode, though you certainly don't need to know how to play in order to enjoy the series! I understand that "Hikaru No Go" ignited a cultural revolution in Asia, and inspired millions of young people to learn to play go! I hope the series will prove just as popular in the US. And even though it doesn't seem to be receiving the same marketing support as "Naruto" (fighting), "Yu-Gi-Oh!" (gaming), "One Piece" (fighting), "Pokemon" (gaming), or even "YuYu Hakusho" (fighting), I also hope that VIZ will realize that "Hikaru No Go" could be the series that finally makes anime mainstream! So, give "Hikaru No Go" a try! Someday, you may be able to boast that you knew all about Hikaru, Akira, and Sai before they were playing prime time! |
