A Timeless Masterpiece Set thirty years after events chronicled in Macross '84: Do You Remember Love?, this installment of the Macross saga is a love story involving two childhood rivals. The target of their obsession: an ex-lover who is the heart and soul of a machine called Sharon Apple. They are also competing for top billing in a project to determine the type of fighter craft to replace the obsolete Valkyrie VF-1, which had faithfully served the UN Spacy during Space War One. The animation is crisp and clean, the character designs are better then in the original Macross TV series, although there are a few tunes in this one that I didn't like. Chris P. Why oh why do they feel the need to take something as cool as the Macross Plus OAV and chop it up into little pieces? They had such a good thing and they butchered it. Don't bother with this hacked version, get the OAVs. Theis is a little cheaper but the OAVs will at least leave you satisfied. |
