Can the communication breakdown between Ran and Tatsukichi ever be repaired? Will it take a miracle for Ran to graduate from high school? If these weren't big enough problems, a stolen backpack and a scary accident combine to put all the Gals on edge. But then it's off to Hawaii for fun in the sun and a big surprise! Ran and her Gal-pals ring in the New Year, a year that will prove to be full of fun and games as well as change and pain. After Miyu's mother refuses to pay her high school tuition, Miyu and the perpetually poor Ran try to find part-time jobs. Even as the Gals are about to enter their second year of high school, they face the possibility of being split up.

Miraculously, Ran-chan has made it to her second year of high school and is idolized by most of the freshman class. But there's one girl who doesn't idolize Ran... in fact, she hates her! And you can bet this misguided freshman is going to make life difficult for Ran and her pals!

With the holiday season approaching, it would seem the Gal pals have plenty to keep them busy, and that's before a monkey escapes on Christmas Eve!

During a school trip, Ran is mistaken for a Taiwanese celebrity, and she makes a deal with the real star to keep up the charade so the actress can escape her entourage and rendezvous with her secret boyfriend. But taking on this temporary identity isn't just fun and games. Ran is forced to appear on a Taiwan TV quiz show, a job made even tougher by the fact that she can't speak Chinese!

This will be a big year for Ran and her Gal pals - their last year of high school! Traditionally, it's a time when students buckle down with the books to focus on their future. Nothing could be less appealing to Ran. Not only does she miss out on a dodgeball tournament, she is without a cell phone for an entire month, annoyed to no end by the Freshman Detectives, and forced to deal with a malicious rumor spread via text message by the callous gossip group known as HEART.

Ran's father and teacher unite to trick her into taking the police entrance exam! Phase one of their master plan is successfully completed when they get a photo of Ran looking exactly like (gasp!) a prim and proper Japanese girl. But you can bet the rest of their conspiracy won't be so easy.

Sporting designer clothes, designer make-up, and designer nails, Ran Kotobuki is the very picture of a trendy Shibuya girl, but don't let her outer appearance fool you. This girl comes from a family of cops, and she's ready to lay you out flat if you even think about causing trouble in her town! ...At least, she will when she's not distracted by karaoke, shopping, and dodging her homework. Join Ran and her friends as they defend the streets of Shibuya and attempt to shop their way into the history books as the most famous Gals ever!
