Excellent Storyline and Animation - lots of action Every once in awhile we get lucky and a series comes along that has both a great storyline and animation. This is one of them! If you like action, romance and comedy then this is for YOU !!! Sgt. Sousuke Sagara has been a soldier all his life (he's only sixteen but its good to have started early). He has been assigned to be a bodyguard to a sixteen year old high school girl by the name of Kaname Chidori. He must pose as a High School student and not let anyone know (including the person he is guarding) what he is doing. He must blend in, but Sgt. Sagara has been fighting all his life and is not use to the peacefull life in Japan. He see's danger everywhere and attacks it, but in doing so causes more damage than you can believe. (this is the funny part and is 50% of the series). He also doesn't understand girls AT ALL !! Since he's never had time to have a girl friend. The other 50% of the movie is outstanding Mecha action. Of course this is all mixed together so you don't get tired of just seeing one thing going on all the time. This is really a MUST SEE and own !!! You will re-watch this series many times over. --------------------------------------------------------------------- If you get hooked on this series (and you will) then there is MORE !!! This series is then followed by a short series called Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU" it just covers life with Sgt. Sagara and classmate Kaname Chidori (and friends) at their High School and maybe some of the funniest anime I have ever seen. Then coming sometime in the future is the second full series of this called "Full Metal Panic - Second Raid" (this has already aired in Japan so its ready to be picked up here sometime in the future). The thing that impressess me about all of this is the continued High Quality of storyline and animation thru out all of this. They never cheap out between series. THIS IS A MUST SEE !!!!! By far the best anime I've ever watched It took me a little while to realize it but Full Metal Panic (FMP) is my favorite anime series of all time. It's got a great mix of mech action with a great cast of characters. Sousuke Sagara is an odd ball but skillful soldier who's part of a mercenary group called Mithril. Kaname Chidori is the high school he's been assigned to protect. These 2 great characters and their supporting cast combine to create a wonderful mix of comedy, romance, drama, suspense and good old fashion mech-action. What's great about this series is the constant change of pace the series goes through. The switching between the high school settings and the action settings keeps the series fresh and keeps you interested in finding out more about the characters. Plus the voice acting for both the english dub and the japanese dub are both high quality. The animation is top notch and story is just superb. I highly recommend this thin pack along with FMP: FUMOFFU (the spinoff that excludes all the action sequences aimed at the more light hearted audiences) and FMP: the 2nd Raid (the second season) as well. Not bad I'll admit this anime was pretty gud but 2 me it wasn't as awsome as alot of my friends made it sound but I still enjoyed it and it was still gud so if you want a gud one 2 watch then this is it |
