A very good romance/slice of life
Kanon is a remake of an anime with the same name. I didn't see the original, so I can't compare the two. The anime features a boy who moves back to a place from his childhood, but he doesn't remember his time there. He reunites with his "girl" friends and starts regaining his memories. The anime is about his time with his "girl" friends, both past and present.

The anime, as far as visuals go, is superb. The character models to the backgrounds are all well drawn and animation is top notch. I thought the voice acting was good as well.

The story is good, it starts off like a normal slice of life type anime, but supernatural elements are introduced later. The story develops at a good pace, and you start to feel like you know the characters. The only complaint I have with the anime was a deux ex machina plot element, a dual explanation of a character's past that confused me. It doesn't ruin the anime though, it just shouldn't have been there.

A great anime for romance/slice of life fans.

Not all that good
I got this anime because of the good reviews that people have been giving it; sadly it did not live up to my expectation.

I felt that the story line was poor and very random (example: a girl who's a demon killer; killing invisable demons at night and a girl who was a fox and has no memory of her past). They added to much characters (mostly all girls) and not enough time/eps for character development.

The art style is very nice and the characters drawing are beautiful but that's it. I give this anime a 1.5 out of 5.

If you're emotionally fragile, this is not the series for you
It is hard to say what is so great about this series without giving too much away.

17-year-old Yuichi returns to a town he hasn't visited in 7 years, to live with his aunt Akiko and cousin Nayuki while he finishes high school. As a child, he spent his summer and winter vacations with them, but now, he can't remember anything about them OR the town, and can't figure out why. The series is about his experiences encountering people (mostly girls) he knew before (and some new ones), and remembering what happened in the past as current events unfold.

If you are the type that cannot handle strong emotions, do not buy this series. It is very funny in places, and very sad in others. Almost all of the girls he encounters have serious emotional scars that he's tied to in some way (usually helping to fix them). And when Yuichi realizes why he doesn't remember the past brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. But, the truth he then discovers is a fitting end to the story.

Is Yuichi a miracle worker? Watch and find out...

A masterpiece .
This is one of my all time favorites , I've watched it like 5 times and plan to watch it more in the future . I don't understand the other reviewers gripes , this is a great show with great character developement and an awesome story .The musical score is top notch , the comedy and drama are top notch . The only beef I have is that everytime I watch it , I end up crying ( Yeah I'll admit it). Its a very emotional tale , one that should not be missed .
