Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play: Fushigi Yugi Eikoden DVD (Hyb)
Mojo Shojo - Sep 11 2003 Rating: "Okay." Could've been better, but still alright... For FY fans, this one is kind of a let-down. The story is fairly decent, but at what, like, 4 episodes, everything is so rushed that you don't have the time to get into it enough to care about it. What's missing is the standard FY practice of dragging things out by delving into people's emotions and agonies. I felt that this should have been much longer, but as an FY fan, I think it deserves a spot in your collection, just not the PRIME spot:) Lindsey Switzer - Jul 27 2004 Rating: "Okay." ^_^ I did enjoy this. I know a lot of people were disappointed in it, but I found it entertaining. My complaint, however, is that the whole thing was very rushed. At only four episodes, they just sped through this. I think it would have been much better suited to perhaps a nine episode format, like the first OVA was. Furthermore, there was one thing that threw me a little. We have a backstory that suddenly erupts out of nowhere. Houki (and I do like her character, so I was glad to see she was in this) tells how she came to be at the palace and a bunch of stuff about Hotohori...it left me kind of scratching my head because, like I said, it just kind of came outta nowhere. I enjoyed it, but I think it could have been better. A little more could have been done with the characters, and there could have been a little more depth to it.
