Air TV Series DVD 1 (Hyb)
J Green - Jun 1 2007 zrdb2003@yahoo.com Rating: Wonderful! Air is a unique series. Air will break your heart-it has one of the saddest endings I've seen in a long time. The characters are supurb, the story engrossing, the artwork is some of the best I've ever seen. The main character-Misuzu belives she has wings and a part of her lives in the sky. This series is a fan favorite-and one of mine. It has to be experianced. Highly rated and not to be missed!! Philip A. Irwin - Jun 14 2007 Rating: Wonderful! The first example of a quality visual novel adaptation comes to america Key/Visual Arts is responsible for some of the most popular visual novels/dating sims in japan, up there with companies such as TypeMOON (The makers of Fate/Stay night), Leaf (Utawarerumono and To Heart) and Navel (Shuffle!). Finally, america will get a taste of the great stories within these games through the brilliance that is AIR. The story begins with a light premise. The tale of the girl in the sky and this puppeteer is not the best way to describe it as it can be summed up in a much more simple and properly written way. A young man named Yukito arrives in a city on the edge of the ocean as summer is beginning with clear blue skies and days of warmth on the verge of beginning. Upon passing out on the beach and being awoken by a flock of seagulls, he happens upon a meek young girl named Misuzu Kamio. This girl has a simple desire to just have fun and feel like a regular person just for once in her life as she follows Yukito around, invites him to dinner at her place and even meets her mother. The following day leads to more events, more meeting with people and a possible leading towards this girl being the one Yukito might just be looking for. Leading into multiple arcs revolving around each character, a trip to the past and ultimately the realization of what must occur, these two spend their last summer together trying to end the mystery of this girl in the sky once and for all, unbeknownst to them that they are more tied to these events than anyone else around them. AIR is a tale of the 1000th summer, the mystical ending of the curse of being bound to the sky and the trial of a mother and her child attempting to overcome their limits and finally achieve pure happiness. AIR is a bittersweet story of the mystical events of the past reflecting the future one millenium later and how something that occured between two people hundreds of years ago changes over time. This is not for the weak hearted, the action loving fanatics that series like Bleach, Naruto or the violence lovers with series like Higurashi or Elfen Lied. This is a pure, full fleged drama much like the series Funimation graced with us about a year ago known simply as Rumbling Hearts. If you love drama, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing this title, as any fan will tell you that this is one of the best dramatic animes to date. I won't end with some cheesy tagline or something like that. This tale is told in the best way possible and it should be viewed by anyone who truly appreciates a good romance/drama/slice of life type story with a supernatural twist. If any of those things interest you then please, purchase this title to support more series similar to it coming stateside, as many Key fans would love to see the predecessor of this series, Kanon, come stateside. mark colston - May 15 2008 darkangelofnewhaven@hotmail.com Rating: Not all that good. I don't know what to say Um this anime was interesting, but not really. I wanted to watch the rest, but the little girl's voice was so annoying, so I dare not watch the rest. If you like girls with sqeaky annoying voices; then by all means go ahead and watch it. Martial Law - Aug 12 2009 mlaw82@optimum.net Rating: Wonderful! A Unique & Heartfelt Series A wonderful heartfelt series this was. If you enjoy watching drama's you will love Air. I enjoy all types of anime but this one will rank high on my list of favorites. If you've seen this series & liked it, you will also enjoy "Kanon". |
