Dragon Ball Z Movies 1-2 DVD (Hyb): Dead Zone/World's Strongest
Joey R. Gardner - Sep 7 2008 Rating: Pretty good! Good, but slightly flawed I have to say; I really like the new picture quality. Much clearer than the previous releases. These also look wonderful in widescreen, which is because, unlike the episodes (Not that I'm complaining) the movies were intended to be cropped. Furthermore, these movies are just fun to watch and the updated quality makes them even more so. However, there is just one flaw. I'll start by saying I'm more of a "sub" type than a "dub" type, that is, I prefer the Japanese version. This set does have the Japanese audio-tracks in addition to English, but all the original credits and the movie title in movie 2 (movie 1 doesn't have one) were completely replaced with those of the English version and the openings, which originally had credits, don't have any at all. In the episodes and TV specials, the Japanese video-track would be shown if Japanese audio is selected, and the English one if English audio is. And furthermore, the video and audio tracks are switchable through DVD remote buttons labeled "angle" (or sometimes just a videocamera symbol) and "audio", respectively. But this set only uses the English one for both languages. If you're into the English version, you may disregard this paragraph. It is only a warning to fans of the Japanese version, which most of you probably are. Not that I care all that much about credits and such, I just don't think the Japanese version should be changed in even the slightest way. Do you? Joseph W. I recommend getting these over their original versions where they are individual because hte quality is better and it is all around cheaper. |
