Super Gals Season 2 DVD Box Set (S)
Peter M. Giese - Feb 20 2007 ptrgiese@yahoo.com Rating: Wonderful! GALS2 ready for U.S.? I was shocked to hear that SuperGals was getting a new batch of episodes since leaving (ANIME COMPANY NAME WITHHELD). Now at the Right-stuf, home of one of my favorite animes, "His & Her Circumstances", SuperGals will still be one of my all-time favorites. To begin, I saw episode 27, courtesy of New-Type USA, and it was wonderful. I am sad that the anime is still not complete in japan. But, I can't wait for it to come out in the U.S. real soon. The animation & storylines are still not bad, but "The Heart of Shibuya" will still be one anime to remember. Good things come to those who wait, when getting "SuperGals: Season 2", that, of course, is an IRONCLAD RULE FOR ALL!!! Taurean J. Watkins - Mar 9 2007 Rating: Wonderful! Loved Season One? Get this set now!! I must admit I was skeptical of the show when I first saw it, but after plowing through the first season I loved every minute. When I heard season two was coming, I was thrilled that episode 26 wasn't the 'real' last episode (I liked it, but again, glad that was not the 'real' ending). Not only do all my old favorite characters return; but a few new faces pop up as well. One thing I love about this show as with many I've seen is just when you think you'll never see a character you liked again (Like Maki Komine from season 1), she appears again in another episode. Another thing as while it might seem like a material show on the surface, it's got some depth to it, but isn't afraid to be funny either. Also I must issue a statement directed at all guys, don't be afraid of this show. Despite all the fashion, makeup, and pastel colors, this show has some intense drama and heralding battles. Everything from street brawls, bizarre competitions, to ramen battles are greatly represented here, plus a little Para Para never hurt either. Personally though, being a guy myself, I have very eclectic tastes, and this show gives me that fix for great character design and bright colors. I usually don't get sub-only releases, but now I'm glad I own the second half of the series. I don't want to give anything away, but I can say with complete honesty that if you loved the first season, this is a must-own for any fan- That's an ironclad rule for Gals! (And Guys) Mr. X - May 17 2007 Rating: Wonderful! My love for GALS My name is Mr. X. I Happen to enjoy the Super Gals season 2 Boxset. I loved it. I saw so far Episodes 27-36, and that is as far as it goes for me to review it. If this anime gets an English dub, I imagine who would get to voice Ran Kotobuki, maybe Lisa Ortiz, Zoe Fries, or my most favorite pick to voice, Rachel Liliss. In other words, I don't think that Super Gals will go with the original English cast like Luci, Kira, Kim, Greg, Chris, or any others. Let me conclude that Super Gals Season 2 is for all fans everywhere! That's common knowledge by me, Mr. X. My rating: 5/5 Suzie Kobayashi - Jun 10 2007 Rating: "Okay." So far from the manga I loved season1 of Super Gals. Still, I was hoping that the plot would follow that of the manga - which is super great - but it didn't. And by "it didn't" I mean it really followed nothing. Adding useless characters such as Kasumi (even thgouh she is kind of cute) was, I think, a bad idea. Still, it was good, it was funny... but season 1 was so much better it deceived me a bit. I noticed also, in the last episodes, a very lazy animation which also deceived me a bit. But, as I said, it was good. Just not as much as the fist season. So you ought to buy it for episodes about 27-40, which are absolutely worth it! B T - Jun 14 2009 BIGPAPAJAKE19@yAHOO.COM Rating: Wonderful! AWESOME- Thats an iron clad rule for anime fans This is a great show, saw it back in 2005, loved it, only reason I didnt buy the second season soon was I hoped it would get dubbed. Loved the show, liked about 95% of the dub, the liner notes, coulda had some english commentaries & more extras, only thing would make this better is if AD Vid or Funni dubbed it with the same cast. Better than most garbage that does get a dub. Then you wonder why Geneon died, & AD Vid is in the dumps. Good job there. BRY GUY - Jun 14 2009 BRYGUY615@YAHOO.COM Rating: Wonderful! Classic I'd put this up there with Azumanga Daioh, Pani Poni Dash, Cromartie High, DMC, Haruhi, Lyrical Nanoha S1-2, Kodocha S1, Stellvia, Snow Fairy Sugar, Desert Punk, FMA, Daphne in the Brilliant Blue, Last EXile, MAPS, Lucky Star, Ghost Stories Dub, Princess Tutu, Petite Princess Yucie, Tenchi. A great show that should have had all episodes dubbed. |
