Superior anime.
In addition to the first two OVAs in this series ("Trust" and "Betrayal"), this is one of the single greatest anime pieces I have ever seen. The artwork is fantastic, the storyline fabulous, and the ending far superior and satisfying than the ending of the Rurouni Kenshin (Anime Works) series. I did start watching the Rurouni Kenshin series first, before even being aware that the OVA series existed, and loved it. When the OVA was brought to my attention, I was blown away. This I saw as a fansub a couple of months after the final Rurouni Kenshin (Anime Works)DVD was released, and now cannot wait until it is fully translated into an English script. If the original English voice actors from the OVA and Motion Picture are also in this, the quality should be great.

Must-See! ^_^x
I started reading the Manga version of Rurouni Kenshin 8 years ago. Of course, at that time, I didn't know his name was Kenshin because for starters, I can't read Japanese! Anyway, I've seen all of the TV series and the OVA... so, it made me wonder how are they going to end his story?

Then, this came.

I've got a mixed reaction at the ending becaues I was disappointed and satisfied at the same time...I really can't tell you because that'll ruin the whole story for you.

Just buy the movie(out in Mar 25) and you'l know what I mean...

kenshin
ok just so everyone knows.. i have not seen this ova yet. i have seen the fist 4 ova eps, all 95 tv eps, the movie, and i've even read the translated version of the jinchuu arc (the season of kenshin that never ended up getting animated) so i can say i know pretty much everything about kenshin. i've known about the ova since last year when it came out and i've seen the import of it at a local anime shop but i never ended up getting it, cuz i knew adv would bring it out in due time. my prediction for this is that it will be much better ending then the TV series gave us, all i know about this ova is that it mostly deals with flashbacks of famous fights kenshin has had, it also shows parts of kenshins battle with enishi, which was part of the arc that never got animated. i also know that kenshin dies at the end of this, i'm not sure how but i read somewhere he gets excuted. o well. this series had to end sooner or later. i only have one more request from the creators of this show.. and thats for them to animate the jinchuu arc.. then they can call it quits. i'm sure it would do good and people would enjoy it. why they dont animate it i'll never know,

I can't get it out of my head!
After watching [Reflection] it finally hit me that (series and OVA's) was the most gratifying anime that I have ever set my eyes on, wasted my time on, and given my complete affection to.

For those who disliked [Reflection]: I must ask what more do you want from the creators? More fights..neverending fights til the ends space? I mean come on' there are so MANY anime out there that doesn't have that "BANG" in the end that leaves you with the feeling that these characters are so REAL! Yeah, that's what it is. I felt that Kenshin, Kaoru, Sanoske, etc... had been put to life in [Relfection]. Another thing for those who disliked [Reflection] for the reason that Kenshin isn't (a strong, swift, -battousai material-) in [Reflection] or collapses after an ultimate fight in Kaoru's arms, remember that Kenshin is presented to us (audience) as a human being. He is no HERO he killed and killed with no affection (he receives scars, gruesome bloody cuts we witness...open and close) and the rest of his wandering days are lived only for his ATONEMENT, his enemies didn't hate him because of his strength and his goodness (the series doesn't revolve around good vs. evil). As a hero is worshipped Kenshin was not... A LEGEND is what he has become of it, and even if it's truly, only an animation.

Beautiful animation, and I swear some scenes in the movie were so realistic, I'd actually thought they were real (like the pail of water and that thingy that hangs on the roof of Kaoru's dojo-excessive scene showing of this!) Rate 1 - 10 , I give a 10. Rate Stars I give a * * * * * !

Another thought: [Reflection], is a REFLECTION back on Kenshin's life past-present. And it was done amazingly well. For those who were disappointed in getting this anime or in its story line, you should've thought about the Title...it summarizes what this OVA is all focused on.

The first chick flick that was made for guys, I almost cried.
I don't even know where to start; seeing all the characters matured, or the suffering aspect of the hero and his first lady. Perhaps it was the reanimated fight sequences. Respectfully, if you did not like this, you must be ill or an anti-anime fan. The only thing I found wrong was that it did not tell the fates of some of the other folks we gave grown to admire. Aoshi, Saito, Misao what about them. I made this purchase with much anticipation and was not dissapointed.

You will buy this and you can not help but love it!!

The best Ruroni Kenshin feature to date
My only complaint: Kenshin comes home to Kaoru....only to die in her lap.

Only one word...WOW!
I loved the OVAs, Trust and Betrayal. I had gotten out of anime for a while as it got expensive but Kenshin remained as one of my favorites. When I found Reflection on the shelf, I picked it up without any questions asked. Well, okay, I asked a few questions but it was more about what the dealer thought about it.

The art was just as fantastic as the first OVAs and was happy. It brought back the satisfaction of watching the original two. But once I got over it, I focused on the story. At first, I was confused as I never got around to watching all of the episodes of the series, especially with all the flashbacks. But in the end, I was touched yet again.

I applaud the creators and the artists and actors for the terrific job of making me become so in touch with the characters. It felt like I knew them by watching their story. Like someone said, in the end, I was both happy and sad! Sad because one of my favorite characters had died, but happy because there couldn't be a more fitting ending for such a tragic hero.

Kenshin definitely gets put down as one of the greatest anime I've seen and had the pleasure to be a part of. It was disappointing to see the story end, but WOW..what an ending!

/me applauds once again.

Kenshin...may you Rest in Peace!

Fantastic, thrilling, dramatic, action, and a box of tissues!
This anime hd me up until the early morning. I couldn't turn it off! It has symbolism, great review of the original series, and wonderful scenes between Karou and Kenshin. It even explains the family tree and many of the things that have always been a question at least in my mind. I would recommend this to any Kenshin fan. Its a wonderful closing to the series. Just make sure you have a box of tissues!

It's as though the writers/editors puked all over my expectations.
You know, there's not much I want to say about this. I just feel like that they crammed 40 episodes worth of things that needed to be taken care of into 2. Everything in this OVA was utter crap, and it left a horrible taste in my mouth when it was said and done. The TV Kenshin series started dying when the Kyoto Arc ended and by God this KILLED it.

Sad and Beautiful: Psychologically traumatising! I loved it!
I'd seen a number of the tv episodes- and thought some were okay- but hated most. But I had been told of the brilliance of 'Trust' and 'Betrayal'. After searching for 2 years- I found those two and this in a box set- and whatched them 1,2,3. Wow! I could not get the story out of my mind for a week! I thought the characters were brilliant, the animation was excellent and the end very human. Having not followed most of the Kenshin story, a few of the plot points were lost on me the first time around (but I have since been filled in)- but I loved it anyway. A very sad, and very beautiful piece of animation start to finish.
