Hong Kong pop diva Sammi Cheng returns to the big screen after a three year hiatus with this entertaining comedy from the team that brought you Infernal Affairs and Initial D! Cheng is Maureen, a quirky no-nonsense policewoman assigned to find the kidnapped son of local triad boss John (played by HK pop idol Eason Chan), who understandably despises the police and would much rather employ his own men to get the job done. The East district is notoriously ruled by five triad gangs. The five leaders, Jimmy, Cafe, Jupiter, Sa Chi, and Man Sing share equal turf. While the gangs are actively engaging in underground activities, the police are desperately trying to make arrests. He is sent to a correctional institute, where he trains under karate master Kenji Kurokawa (Francis Ng from Johnnie To's Exiled) and, upon his release, begins a new life as a lethal professional fighter.
