Reiji Oozora thinks he's no good at anything - especially schoolwork! Then one day he's introduced to a game called Dragon Drive and gets his very own virtual dragon and names it Chibi. Small and weak, Chibi appears to be as big a loser as Reiji! But after their first battle, Reiji realizes there may be more to his tiny friend than meets the eye.

The boundaries between Earth and Rikyu have shattered, and only Takumi and his dragon Raikoo can heal the two worlds. Now Takumi is on the run from RI-IN, a shady organization with a mysterious interest in the Raikoo dragons. Fortunately, help is on the way: four veterans of the previous Rikyu conflict have reunited as adults to join the new battle!

Meguru has a plan to stop RI-IN, but she needs help... lots of help. How can Takumi convince all the Raikoo masters in the world to gather at the top of Mount Fuji? He tries to save his dragon, but finds himself pitted against the heirs of the powerful house of Darius Alga Winright! Can Reiji free Chibi before a big sea dragon makes a meal out of him?

Reiji and friends learn of a terrible prophecy! Within the mystical Jinryu stone lives a destructive dragon called Shinryu. If this dragon is released it could mean the end of the world! When the stone is stolen, the thief summons a horde of dragons to take him to Earth. Can Reiji and his pals stop this madman before he rains destruction upon the unsuspecting planet?

Reiji goes solo to find a legendary dragon named Shinnseiba but runs into trouble when he's mistaken for a bandit and put in jail. A friendly soldier named Koryu discovers that the squad captain has been using a huge dragon to terrorize a village and extort treasure. Realizing his loyalties are misplaced, Koryu decides to rescue Reiji. Together they must take on the captain and his dragon to save the village!

Maiko's in jail, along with all the people of Yaudim! A huge, childish dragon named Guanku is holding them captive and using Maiko as his personal toy! Is there any hope for escape?

Despite Reiji's best efforts, Kohei has made it to the Shishinryu Shrine, where the Jinryu Stone is held. Is RI-ON about to gain absolute power over two worlds? Not if Meguru and Rokkaku can help it!
