Edward works as a State Alchemist, but his true goal is to return his younger brother Alphonse to his true form. Ed and Al travel to the town of Xenotime, once a rich gold-mining community, following a lead on researchers developing a Philosopher’s Stone, the legendary alchemical artifact that can work wonders, and possibly even restore Al's body.

Alphonse and Edward get caught up in a string of terrorist bombings. Enlisting the help of Col. Roy Mustang, the two alchemists must hunt down the insurrectionists and stop their reign of terror.

Under direct orders from their commanding officer, Edward and Alphonse journey to a remote city deep within the wasteland borders of Eastern Command. Almost immediately, the Elric brothers discover that Wisteria isn't exactly a normal place. Veiled in shadows, it appears to be a utopian wonderland ruled not by military command but rather by the very laws of alchemy that guide their own personal fate.
