This double DVD pack contains both Toshiaki Toyoda's Blue Spring and 9 Souls.
In their graduation year, the disaffected students turn their concrete box of a school into a backdrop against which to create their own version of society. The newly elected boss Kujo (played with cool panache by rising star Ryuhei Matsuda) disdains all the rules, including those that have led to his election.
Into this power vacuum, his scandalized friend and lieutenant Aoki (Hirofumi Arai) enters with vicious intent. As graduation looms, the pupils study violence... and death.

When a bomber, a patricide, a pornographer, and a mad biker, together with various other forms of social detritus, break free from jail, it is not surprising that mayhem follows in their wake. What is surprising is the degree of sympathy that brilliant young director Toshiaki Toyoda (Blue Spring, Porno Star) elicits with elegant ease from the spectator, as the gang of misfits roams the land in a despair that is crueler for being comic. This is humanity on the run to nowhere.
Although originally inspired by The Great Escape, the film has more of a feel of Les Miserables mixed with a hallucinogenic, cut with speed. A truly original addition to the jail break genre!
DVD Features: 2 interviews with the director Toshiaki Toyoda, Bios/Filmographies, Original Trailer, Promotional Material, Tom Mes Voice Over.
Spoken Languages: Japanese Dialogue with English Subtitles.
